Returning from reruns, CSI easily won its 9pm time slot in the Thursday overnights, and CBS once again won the overall evening's ratings.
"Crash and Burn" averaged a 17.3/26 rating, according to figures published at Zap2it. This means approximately 17.3\% of American households with television sets were tuned into the show, while the episode was viewed by 26\% of households watching television at the time. These figures come from overnight ratings based on the top markets, and final ratings will be available next week.
This compares to 14.5/22 for last week's repeat showing of "The Execution of Catherine Willows", and 18.3/25 for the last new episode — Lucky Strike — that aired on 20 February.
Survivor: The Amazon began the night for CBS, winning its 8pm slot with 12.6/19. Then came CSI; it won the 9pm hour, beating NBC's Will & Grace on 10.1/15 and Good Morning Miami on 8.7/13, UPN's Smackdown! on 4.6/7, ABC's Are You Hot?, and the final hour of NAACP Image Awards which gave a 3.8/6 to Fox. Last was WB with a dismal 2.5/4 from JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.
Coming first from 8pm - 10pm and second at 10pm (CBS's Without a Trace lost out to NBC's ER), CBS came first in the evening overall with 13.3/21 score, easily ahead of NBC on 11.8/18, ABC on 5.2/8 and Fox on 3.6/6.
