CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be back on Australian television screens from next week.
The Nine Network is scheduled to air CSI's third-season premiere, "Revenge Is Best Served Cold", at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25. The series will form part of the network's new Tuesday-night line-up, with The Bachelor II kicking off the evening at 7:30 p.m., followed by CSI at 8:30 p.m., home-grown drama series Stingers at 9:30 p.m. and The West Wing rounding off the night at 10:30 p.m.
Both CSI and CSI: Miami, which is billed as "coming soon", will be broadcast in high-definition digital television, according to Digital Broadcasting Australia. This service is currently only available in Sydney and Melbourne, with other capital cities following in mid-2003. Several other US series, such as Smallville and The Sopranos, will also be broadcast in high definition in addition to local content.
Australian fans collecting the series on DVD will be pleased to know that the second CSI Region 4 DVD set will hit stores next month. Season 1, Episodes 1.13-1.24, will be released on April 16, according to Michael DVD. While no price information is currently available, it is expected to retail at a similar price to the first DVD set, which is available from EzyDVD for $87.95.
