'CSI: New York' Release Date Announced

CSI: New York's third season will be in stores this fall.

The third season of CSI: NY (see the episode guide here) will be released on October 9, 2007 according to TV Shows on DVD. The DVDs will be in widescreen, with a regular stereo soundtrack as well as 5.1 Surround audio. The studio has not yet revealed what extra features will be included on the DVDs.

While New York's third season won't be available until the fall, fans of the CSI franchise living in the United Kingdom will be able to buy the first half of CSI: Miami's fourth season (episode guide) next month. The DVDs contain 12 episodes of Horatio Caine (<font color=yellow>David Caruso</font>) and his fellow CSIs solving crimes in sunny Florida. The set includes the crossover with CSI: NY and will be released on July 2, 2007.

Fans in the United Kingdom can watch the sixth season (episode guide) of CSI while they wait for Miami's third season to come out. Released on June 4, the second half of season six contains several special features. <font color=yellow>George Eads</font> (Nick Stokes) takes part in a commentary on "Poppin' Tags", which is one of two on the DVD set. Viewers can learn about some of the forensic equipment used on the show during "Gadgets And Gizmos", and "Apparent Cause Of Death" gives a behind-the-scenes look as an extra is turned into a corpse through the use of make-up effects.
