CSI Files

Captain
CSI: New York will be adding two new recurring actors to the show next season.

Writing from the Television Critics Association press tour, TV Guide columnist Michael Ausiello reported that Kerr Smith and Bess Wohl have both signed on to join the show. Smith is best-known for his role on Jack McPhee on Dawson's Creek, but also previously guest-starred on CSI: Miami's "Game Over" as Matthew Wilton, and had an uncredited role on the original CSI's "Blood Drops."

Smith will be playing Drew Becker, an expert in forged documents and a love interest for Stella Bonasera -- or at least, that's what it'll seem like. "[He] pretends to be an expert in forged documents," executive producer Pam Veasey told Ausiello. "He has a mysterious background that we are slowly developing. He's a love interest who has an ulterior motive."

Bess Wohl already made a previous appearance on CSI: New York, playing Audrey Davis in the first-season episode "Til Death Do We Part." Ausiello didn't provide a name for her character, but did reveal she'll be a new lab tech who's a good friend of Adam Ross.
