CSI: Miami "Till Death Do Us Part"

Police Officer
CH. 1

It was a hot morning in August as Horatio Caine drove his Hummer to the latest crime scene. It was 8AM, a little early for a call, but, of course, he had to take it.
"You haven't eaten, have you?" Calleigh had asked him after he'd gotten the call.
"No."
"Good. This one will make you sick."
Horatio found himself in a high-class Coconut Grove gated community. Strange place for a murder. He was met at the door to the house by Eric Delko. "Horatio, this is bad. Come on."
Horatio followed Eric into the living room, and was met by a sight that sent a wave of nausea rushing into his throat. A man lay sprawled in a pool of blood on the cream-colored carpet. The murderer had eviscerated him and made no attempt to hide it, either, which created quite a mess, naturally.
Horatio sighed. "Whoever did this," he concluded, "had a lot of guts."

HAHA I loved that last line, that made me giggle! And then I got caught being up too late and now I have to go to bed...........anyway......keep it up! I wanna see more! teehee

 Oh a nice little quip for the end of the chapter. :D

Great job!

So far things have started out wonderfully, I love how much it feels like the show. I can't wait for the next chapter, it should be interesting. :)

CH. 2

"So, Alexx," Horatio began, kneeling by her as she gently examined the body for any other trauma. "What do you have exactly?"
"Oh, Horatio..." Her voice trailed off brokenly. "I've seen cruelty, but nothing like this."
"Got an I.D.?"
"Scott Hughes, 37. Wife found him. Calleigh's trying to calm her down now."
Horatio glanced in the direction of Calleigh Duquesne, who sat with a blonde woman who obviously was the wife. "Mrs. Hughes?" he asked in a soothing tone. "I'm Lt. Horatio Caine from the Miami-Dade crime lab. Are you all right?"
The woman shook her head. "It's Rebecca," she mumbled. "And no, Lt. Caine, I'm not okay. My husband had his intestines cut out! How can I be okay?" She began sobbing again.
"Rebecca...don't worry," Horatio replied. "We'll find who did this. I promise."

CH. 3

Eric absolutely did not want the job of photographing this one. Even the sight of a decapitated, maggot-infested corpse in the middle of nowhere was better than this scene.
Probably why he felt this way was because of how personal it was. He couldn't begin to fathom how the wife must feel- coming downstairs on a lazy Saturday morning to have a cup of coffee with her husband, instead finding him butchered in front of the couch.
He sighed and began snapping pictures. Every angle, every shot he took, he felt sicker and angrier. It was amazing how much of the modern world was going straight to hell.

CH. 4

Calleigh Duquesne was having a hard time calming the victim’s wife. Rebecca Hughes had been sobbing uncontrollably ever since the team arrived on the crime scene, and no matter what Calleigh did, the poor woman couldn’t seem to stop crying.
Calleigh walked over to Horatio, who stood supervising the scene, twirling his sunglasses between his fingers. “Hey,” she murmured, pulling off one latex glove.
“Hey, yourself.” He smiled at her in his typical flirty way, causing her to blush. “Were you able to calm her?”
She sighed. “No. I’m not having any success now. Why don’t you try?”
Horatio nodded solemnly. “Sure.”
He touched the victim’s wife softly on her shoulder, and she looked up at him with red, swollen eyes. “Caine, right? Horatio, you said? Well, Horatio, what are you gonna do about this one? Aren’t you CSIs the experts?”
“Rebecca,” Horatio said gently. “Sometimes, we don’t have all the answers.”
He took a breath before continuing. “But I swear that this time....we will.”

CH. 5

Ryan Wolfe had so much to do this morning. The recent murder had sent in a wave of evidence, and he had a lot of processing to do.
He yawned loudly. Gosh, he'd wanted to sleep late today. But, of course, he'd been awakened at 8:15 by Horatio calling to tell him to get to the lab. What happened to off-days?
Ryan examined the sample under the microscope. It was a stray fiber Calleigh had picked up off the victim's shirt. Wool. The victim had been wearing cotton.
Wool? In August in Miami?
Something was up for sure.

Excuse the, um, two month delay... been busy.

CH. 6

"So, Alexx, what's the preliminary cause of death?" Horatio asked softly.
Alexx Woods peeled off her gloves. "Evisceration, obviously, Horatio. He was still alive when it happened. The pain was probably sheer hell."
Horatio shook his head. "My God."
Alexx swept a glance over Scott Hughes's body. "He was adorable," she said quietly. "his wife was lucky." She ran her hand gently through his hair. "is it any better up there, baby?"
"It is," Horatio said. "Of course it is."

CH.7

"So, anyway, what can you tell me?"
Calleigh Duquesne was seated opposite the victim's wife, Rebecca, trying to get the woman to tell her something, anything, about the murder. So far, Calleigh was empty-handed. Not good.
Rebecca sighed and brushed a tissue across her eyes. "I don't know anything," she said. "I'm serious."
"Oh, come on. Your husband is killed in a very painful way downstairs in your home, and you know nothing?"
"I'm telling the truth! I loved my husband very much! I would never do this to him!"
Calleigh sighed. "Mrs. Hughes-"
"It's Rebecca."
"Fine. Rebecca, you have to know something. Anything. Did your husband have any enemies?"
Rebecca shook her head. "Scott was a wonderful man. Everyone loved him."
"Everybody," Calleigh said, "but one person."

"It is," Horatio said. "Of course it is."
I just thought when I read this, because it is, and H is one to know- away from the pain, he might say. He's gone though so much...
Like this a lot so far! Keep it up! :D
