CSI: Crime Scene Investigation finished first and CSI: Miami finished eighth in the national rankings of the most-watched shows on television last week, helping CBS become the most-watched network for the period. But rival network NBC scored the highest numbers with the viewers most desired by advertisers.
CSI's "Precious Metal" earned a 16.6 rating/25 share, while CSI: Miami's "Double Cap" received an 11.4/19. CBS' shows Everybody Loves Raymond and Survivor: The Amazon also finished in the top 8. Thus disappointing ratings for the NCAA basketball tournament did not impact CBS' overall performance in the network standings.
"Fortunately for CBS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation remains red-hot on Thursday nights, nearly doubling the average for NBC's tandem of Will And Grace and Good Morning, Miami against it," wrote Brian Lowry of The Los Angeles Times in Calendar Live.
CBS won the week with an average 8.0 rating/13 share, leading NBC which finished with a 7.3/12. Yet NBC earned a 4.3 among the peak adult demographic, with FOX also finishing ahead of CBS.
