'CSI' Executive Producer Receives Award

<font color=yellow>Carol Mendelsohn</font>, executive producer and show runner of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, will be presented with an award next month.

From June 10-13, the 28th edition of the Banff World Television Festival (BWTVF) will take place in Alberta, Canada. Mendelsohn will be honored with the Award of Excellence. She will also give a presentation in one of the BWTVF's Master Class sessions. She will discuss the development and production of CSI as well as her personal experiences in the broadcast industry.

Mendelsohn has been the show runner and executive producer of CSI from the beginning, and she is also a co-creator and executive producer of both CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. She began writing on the series Stingray and Wiseguy with <font color=yellow>Stephen Cannell</font>. She also spent five years as executive producer on Melrose Place. Mendelsohn has been nominated for a number of awards as a producer including multiple Emmys, Golden Globes and three People's Choice Awards.

<font color=yellow>Jennifer Harkness</font>, the executive director of the BWTVF, said that the festival is "delighted to have the opportunity to acknowledge" Mendelsohn's career, which has earned her "international recognition and admiration." The festival also wanted to give delegates access to "the thought processes of one of the most powerful women in Hollywood."
