The 2003-2004 television season is barely over, but already networks are pushing their prime-time series for Emmy consideration.

"For Your Consideration" DVDs featuring episodes of both CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Miami have been sent out to members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to encourage them to remember both series when they are marking their Emmy ballots. The ballots will be mailed to voters on Monday, June 7 and have to be returned to Ernst & Young by June 23.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has chosen to showcase its fourth season with "After the Show" and "Butterflied". The former episode, which aired on November 20, 2003, centred around the disappearance of a wannabe show-girl, while the latter, shown on January 15, 2004, dealt with the murder of a young nurse.

The Miami crime team will try to entice Emmy voters with "Witness To Murder", in which the only witness to a shooting is a mentally disabled man. CBS has also submitted "Slow Burn", which centered around a hunter found dead in the Everglades.

Last season, CSI received seven Emmy nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Drama Series, but only came home with one trophy, for Outstanding Sound Editing. CSI: Miami triumphed in the single category it was nominated in, with Michael D. O'Shea winning Outstanding Cinematography for "Simple Man".

Nominations for the 2004 Emmy Awards will be announced at 5:35 a.m. on July 15.
