Could it be you?

This is a Wedges fic. The idea came to me out of the blue. I do't own these awesome characters. I only like to borrow them for my guilty pleasures. Enjoy and comments are always welcome and appreciated....

Wendy smiled as she watched her husband walking their daughter down the aisle of the church. Two things about her life continued to amaze her.

The first was that she and David had been married nearly twenty five years. That seemed like an eternity to her. Not a single day went by that she didn't thank her lucky stars that she'd finally looked past Hodges arrogant exterior and saw that wonderful, caring and sometimes funny man that he buried deep beneath the surface.

Secondly, they had five wonderful children together. The ranged in age from twenty three to three. Their son had been somewhat of a surprise.

Smiling she remembered back over their life together.

***Flashback***
Wendy looked at Hodges with a somewhat disgusted look on her face. She couldn't believe that he'd had the nerve to try and trick them. She finally had to walk away from him because if she stayed she knew that she would give in to the urge to slap him.

Later that night, she heard someone come in to the DNA lab. Not having to see the person to know who it was she murmured, "What do you want Hodges?"

"How did you.. Never mind. Look Wendy, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I never should've put you and the others in that position."

Finally turning to look at him she said, "Your right. You shouldn't have. If you ever do that again you'll be sorry."

He looked at her and said, "I already am. I've hurt you and for that I'm sorry."

He turned and started walking out of the lab. Wendy sighed and knew that she couldn't let him leave like this. So, she said, "Hodges wait. It isn't entirely your fault. Well, most of it is, but we could've said no and we didn't."

They stood there and looked at each other for a few minutes. Finally, Hodges asked, "Are you hungry? Because I was going to go to the diner and get some breakfast and well, I hate eating alone and thought that maybe you'd like to eat with me and..."

Wendy laughed and said, "Your rambling."

Hodges smiled and said, "I know. I always do that when I'm nervous. I'm sorry, forget I asked."

Wendy laughed and said, "I'd be glad to have breakfast with you Hodges."

"You would?"

"I would. Just let me finish cleaning up here and get my purse out of my locker."

Hodges smiled and in his good mood forgot to open the door and walked right into it. Wendy pretended not to notice and coughed to cover her amused laugh. She knew this was going to be an evening she wouldn't forget anytime soon...

Okay, opinions please? Good, bad other?
