CBS, home of CSI and CSI: Miami claimed victory for the November sweeps, gaining 10\% from last year and sweeping all four categories.
According to The Futon Critic, CBS came in first in total viewers, households, and both adult age categories, 25-54 and 18-49. CBS easily bested second place NBC, with 14.58 million viewers compared to NBC's 11.46. While CBS was up 10\% from last year in viewers, second place NBC was down 12\%.
CBS scored 9.5/15 in household ratings, up 9\% from the previous year. This means on average approximately 9.5 percent of American households with television sets were tuned into CBS, while 15 percent of households watching television at the time were watching CBS. NBC came in second place in this category as well, scoring a 7.6/12.
CBS was up 8\% from last year in the adults 25-54 category, scoring a 5.4/13. In the adults 18-49 category, CBS was up 2\%, with score of 4.2/11. NBC came in second for both of these categories as well, scoring 5.0/12 and 4.5/12 respectively.
UPN was the only other network to see any kind of gain. In the households category, UPN scored a 2.6/4, a 4\% gain over last year.
While NBC came in second place, ABC came in third, FOX took fourth, the WB claimed fifth place, and UPN took the sixth place spot.
With the exception of CBS's gains in every category and UPN's gain in households, the other networks showed losses across the board. Hit the hardest was WB, down 15\% in total viewers and adults 25-54, and down 19\% in the adult 18-49 category.
