Carved Stick in episode19 the descent of man

I bought a carved walking stick from Oxfam charity and imagine my surprise when the day it arrives in the post, I see something that looks just about identical (except that it is a staff) used by the religion of Steve in episode 19 The descent of Man.
It looks like American folk art to me. Anybody know any more?

I am now off to start my own religion...
 
Welcome to the board, KarenPotts. Since this thread just has to do with just the original CSI, it will probably get transported over to that forum of the board by the moderators. There is already a "Descent of Man" Discussion thread open over there.
 
I am actually going to send this to Merch, as it talks about purchasing and info on the item purchased. ;)
