Caruso Preludes 'Miami's' 3rd Season Premiere In The UK

CSI Files

Captain
David Caruso (Horatio Caine) knows his character and the politics of Hollywood very well, he demonstrated recently.

In order to promote the premiere of the third season of Miami in the UK, the 49-year-old actor talked to the British TV & Satellite Week about what motivates his character. "For Horatio, it’s not only about the victim, but the victim’s family and the aftermath of the crime, because for them this event is going to last forever."

Furthermore, Caruso briefly discussed his departure off NYPD Blue and how it helped him understand the intricacies of Hollywood better. "I think I represent to people how not to handle your career in television," he explained. "I didn’t handle success well first time round but that came from inexperience. Ten years later I have a different appreciation and perspective."

Though Caruso is willing to learn from his mistakes there are some things the actor remains reluctant about, like being labeled a sex symbol. When asked what he thought of his 'eye candy' status, Caruso replied with a good-natured, "I’m a 49-year-old with red hair, think about it!"

CSI: Miami airs Tuesday nights at 9 on Britain's Channel Five. For those who are watching the earlier episodes across the pond, Caruso offered a tempting summary of what lies for the characters ahead, "All these personal boundaries will be crossed, and a lot of the subplots and connections between characters are going to come to the forefront."
