~~Chapter 1~~

“No, Eric I didn’t agree to this.” Calleigh exclaimed as Eric’s playful grin appeared on his face. “You lost, and you have to face the consequences.” Eric answered as he sipped his morning coffee.

Tim Speedle walked into the lounge and stopped to see Calleigh practically on her knees begging Eric to let the bet drop. Calleigh looked up at him and pointed. “Tim doesn’t agree.” She said plainly. Speed lifted a brow and walked over slowly, his hands in his pockets. “Agree to what?” He asked, knowing very well what Calleigh was talking about. Eric and Tim always enjoyed teasing Calleigh, but this one had gone far beyond fun. – At least for them it did.

Calleigh closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I knew I shouldn’t have agreed to this bet.” She mumbled. Eric placed the coffee cup on the table and walked over to Calleigh. “Okay Cal, here’s the deal. You have to go out on a date with me and then the next night, with Speed.” Calleigh snapped her head up and shook her head. “You said we were all going to just go out for lunch and I had to pay.” She explained, worried. Speed offered the same expression to Eric. “Wait a second,” He began. “No one said anything about a date.”

Eric laughed. “Come on Speed, you’re nervous all of a sudden? I thought you were a confident young stud.” He teased. Speed frowned. “The bet’s off.” Calleigh sighed relief at those words and was anxious to get back to work and forget all of this happened. It’s not that she didn’t want to go out on a date with both of these men, she just didn’t know how to deal with the fact that she might fall in love with one of them. The thought of that scared her. She had worked with both of them for years, and their working relationships were strong. A romantic relationship could destroy that in time, and she didn’t want to jeopardize that.

And yet Eric still prodded at the idea. “What have we got to lose? It’s just dinner.” He stated. Calleigh rolled her eyes. “Eric, this is childish.” She answered. The young Cuban shrugged and walked over to the door. “Whatever you say. I’m picking you up at seven so be ready.” He then left and Calleigh was left in Speed’s presence.

Calleigh stared at the younger CSI with questioning eyes. Tim obviously looked nervous, and not because he was alone with the woman he’d had feelings for, for the past few years.

He was afraid to hurt her if anything happened between them. Eric might be the player, but Speed wasn’t so keen on commitment himself. He’d only had a handful of girlfriends since the age of seventeen, and even then, they didn’t last longer than a month. The reason? Tim seemed to be engrossed in his work, or his latest obsession to care about any of these women longer than a few days. That’s what the women said anyway. The only difference with Calleigh, is they shared much of the same interests.

Calleigh walked over to Tim and placed a firm hand on his chest. “I am so sorry Tim.” She exclaimed. Speed shook his head. “It’s okay. Besides, it couldn’t hurt right? It’s just dinner.” He answered, reiterating Eric’s words a few moments ago. Calleigh offered a warm smile and walked out of the room, leaving Speed’s cheeks flushed. This, he figured, could be a problem.

~~Chapter 2~~

Calleigh Duquesne waited for Eric to show up as she hesitantly put in some diamond earrings. She hoped she wasn't too formally dressed. She was wearing a dark red form fitting dress, and black high heeled shoes. She also wore a diamond necklace around her neck, which shone brightly in the lighting of her house. She sighed as she peered at herself through the mirror.

The doorbell suddenly rang, and that made Calleigh jump a little. She walked down the stairs and opened the door. Eric was wearing a black suit with a dark blue tie. He was clean shaven and his hair was gelled up into tiny spikes. He was afterall, a young man and looked as such. He smiled at her and gave her a white tulip. This broke the ice a little, as Calleigh giggled. "How thoughtful." She quipped.

Eric tilted his head and grabbed her hand. "Only the best for you." He answered. Calleigh rolled her eyes playfully. Things weren't going too bad so far, and she thought that she'd just relax for a while instead of staying on guard all night. Obviously his intention was nothing hostile, just to show her a good time as friends.

Calleigh stepped into his black SUV and sat down. Eric walked around the other side to the driver's seat. Calleigh peered around the truck. It was clean. She laughed at the thought that he probably spent all afternoon cleaning it so that it looked slighlty presentable. Eric sat down and turned the key.

There was an awkward silence between the two. Both of them had never been in this situation with each other before. Usually they had ridden together in the county Hummer, and it was always to, and from a scene. They had always found something to talk about, and it usually had to do with the case.

"I've got this nice place picked out. You'll love it." Eric suddenly said, as Calleigh paid attention to the passenger side window. "Mhm." She answered. Eric lifted a brow and looked in her direction. "Wow something's wrong already? I didn't know I was that bad." He said. Calleigh laughed. He always had a way of making her laugh, no matter what mood she was in. "Everything's perfect so far Eric. I was just thinking about something." She answered. Delko nodded and kept his attention on the road.

They both arrived at a small place near the beach. The building was ambient with red and orange lighting. The blue, and calm waters complimented the colour scheme, making the restaurant glow against the warm Miami night. Eric pulled Calleigh's chair out for her, and she sat down with a smile. Delko walked to the other side of the table and sat down. He ordered the wine, which Calleigh made a mental note to pay him back in cash the next day. Eric sensed her discomfort and passed her a menu. "Still thinking?" He asked. Calleigh took the menu with a grin, and opened it. "No, I'm just savoring every moment."

Eric smiled and nodded. "And you were nervous about this." He said. Calleigh could feel her cheeks grow warm. "Well you've changed my mind." She responded, as she looked attentively at the menu.

Both of them ate the meal, and had many conversations about the happenings in the news, and their latest break in a case they had both been working on for the past few weeks. All was well, and Calleigh started to relax a little more and accept that this night just wasn't going to turn out as badly as she expected. Eric was a complete gentleman, and he never once pushed her to do anything she didn't want to. He kept everything safe and comfortable. Just the way Calleigh liked it.

Eric drove Calleigh back to her place that same night, and escorted her to the front door. She smiled. "I had a wonderful evening Eric." She said, glowing. Eric lowered his head and smirked. "I hope you're not lying to get out of it again." He answered. Calleigh laughed. "Again?" She asked. She wasn't afraid of the prospect of going out with him again, considering this night wasn't a disaster. She had actually had a great time, and was willing to do this again. "I think that could be arranged sometime." She finished. Delko took her hand and kissed it gently. "Good night Calleigh." He said softly. Calleigh watched as he walked back to his SUV and drove off. She sighed and opened her door.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW That was soooo cute! Eric is such a sweetie, ugh man, I would NOT mind going on a date with that man......I probably would have invited him in and *cencored* haha anyway, I can't wait to see what happens next, I wonder if Tim will be less enthusiastic about their date, guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Hmm the ending to that chapter was very interesting. lol. But awww I'm glad that Calleigh had a good time. The date with Eric I was expecting to go horribly wrong for some reason. But you suprised me, keep up the good work!

 Maybe the date with Tim will go horribly wrong. :p

Ah, I never think that far ahead but I have a few ideas. Anywho, I should have more a bit later so stay tuned! Hee.

~~Chapter 3~~

Calleigh arrived at work the next day, wearing her usual attire, her hair bounced in blonde curls as she entered the lounge. Eric Delko and Tim Speedle were sitting on the couch, each reading the paper. Eric sipped his coffee, and Tim was occupied with the sports section of the paper.

Calleigh smiled. "Hi guys." She greeted. Eric peered up and smiled, while Tim didn't show her much attention. Calleigh sat down in a chair and grabbed the newspaper from Tim's grip. He looked up at her with a questioning look. "Do you mind?" He asked. Calleigh opened the paper. "Nope." She answered. Speed frowned. "I was reading that." He said. Calleigh nodded and turned the page. "You ignore me so I steal your paper." She answered.

Eric laughed. Tim shook his head and grabbed the paper from her hands. "So did you two have fun last night?" He asked. Eric nodded. "We had a wonderful evening. You have anything planned for Calleigh tonight?" He asked. Speed stood up and placed the paper on the table. "No." He said, and left.

Calleigh stared at the floor, disappointed. Why was he acting this way? Why didn't he care? Was he angry with her for some reason? All these questions had no answers, yet they had been boggling her mind as she worked all day. Her case was with Eric so she didn't need to converse with Tim very much, which was a relief, seeing as he didn't want to talk to her much anyway.

That night, Calleigh brushed her straightened hair, and applied some last minute makeup before her doorbell rang. Tim was right on time, not a second late. She didn't even think he'd show up, let alone be on time. Calleigh ran down the stairs and opened the door. Tim stood before her, in a black dress shirt and dress pants. He hadn't bothered to shave, because he honestly didn't think they'd get past dinner.

Calleigh stared at him, not saying a word. Tim extended a hand, and with a smirk shifted positions to let her aside. Calleigh took his hand and followed him out.

She realized he had just gotten off work, as she sat in the giant Hummer. Tim got inside the Hummer and shut the door with a loud slam. Calleigh jumped. Speed looked over at her. "Sorry." He said plainly. Calleigh nodded. Maybe this wasn't the best idea, she thought to herself. This was probably been the most uncomfortable she had ever felt with someone. Usually they had gotten along just fine, but she figured the reason Tim was so hostile toward her was because he was just as nervous.

They both arrived at the restaurant, which was a small place with a lot of people. Calleigh looked around and saw happy couples all sharing a meal, while she was stuck in a small restaurant with someone she didn't want to share a bathroom stall with. Speed didn't order any wine, just a couple of waters. He personally didn't feel Calleigh was worth a glass of wine. She was worth a lot more to him than anything money could buy. He just didn't know how to tell her. He gazed at her emerald green eyes, and was almost lost in them before she spoke.

"Are you alright Tim?" She asked. Tim nodded and looked down at his menu. "You alright?" He asked. Calleigh sighed and looked around. "Yeah, just great." She answered dryly.

The rest of their meal was in silence, as couples jabbered around them, telling each other about their day at work, or what they were planning on accomplishing in the next week. Calleigh and Tim, however had nothing to say to each other. They ate, they drank, and Tim paid the bill. He escorted her to the Hummer and they drove back in silence.

Calleigh was sure he wasn't even going to walk her to her door, but he insisted and followed her up. Calleigh shook her head as she opened her purse to fetch her keys. Tim sighed. "I'm sorry Calleigh." He suddenly said. "I'm sorry I couldn't make you feel the same way Eric did the other night. But I'm not like him, I don't need to glam things up and flatter people. What does it accomplish? It won't mean anything if I don't feel something for you." He explained. Calleigh looked up at him, confused. What was he trying to say?

"I don't know what you mean." She said. Tim inched a little closer to her, and she stayed put. "Calleigh," He began. Calleigh stared at him. He didn't continue, but gazed into her eyes. He suddenly kissed her softly, and she closed her eyes. Calleigh's mind felt like a whirlwind. She couldn't think, she couldn't move, and she wasn't sure she wanted to. He deepened the kiss, and Calleigh wrapped her arms around his neck. Somehow, they both knew they wanted this. They wanted nothing more than to savor this moment. Dinner and wine was forgotten and the moment was all that mattered.

Tim pulled away and Calleigh's cheeks grew warm. She peered at him, surprised, and wanting more at the same time. "Well...Eric never did that." Calleigh finally said. Speed stepped back. "I'm sorry." He exclaimed. He walked away quickly and drove off, leaving Calleigh on her porch, alone.

Calleigh entered her house, and walked into her kitchen. She grabbed a mug and filled it with water. She didn't know why, but she had to do something from keeping her mind off of him. She didn't understand why he apologized, but a part of her was sorry as well. He had feelings for her, and now that she realized it, she wondered for how long. All those moments he stole a look, every time he smirked, amused at her words, or even held the door open for her. Maybe it was just her paranoid mind trying to make sense of things, but she was sure of one thing. She felt the same way. Perhaps not on a conscious level, but now she couldn't help but smile thinking about him.

A knocking suddenly came upon her door, and her thoughts were interrupted. She walked slowly into her living room and opened the door. Tim Speedle was before her once more, this time not because he was forced to be there. He wanted to be there, he wanted to see Calleigh.

"I love you." Speed said as he pulled her lips to his once more. Calleigh closed the door behind them. She broke away from him, their heads just inches from each other. "I love you." She whispered. Tim smirked and that brought forth a smile from Calleigh. "I guess the wine didn't really matter huh." She said.

THE END.

Can I just take a moment to say AWWWWWW extremely loud!? lol. Oh man I must have yelled "God Timmy your such an idiot" about 3 times while reading this. But it all came out in the end. Hee.
