I'm curious to see which of the ten season openers people liked the most. Here's a brief rundown of each one:

Season 1: Pilot/Cool Change (not sure if a pilot counts as a season opener) - Introduces the main characters and the concept of forensics. Features the start of the Millander arc and the death of Holly Gibbs.

Season 2: Burked - Introduces Sam Braun and the complex relationship he has with Catherine as the CSIs investigate the death of Braun's son.

Season 3: Revenge is Best Served Cold - The CSIs investigate the death of street racer and the death of a renowned poker player. Features the addition of Eric Szmanda and Robert David Hall to the main cast/opening credits.

Season 4: Assume Nothing - The team look into a possible serial killer. Grissom's hearing is fixed. The episode ends with a twist that carries over to a second part, All For Our Country.

Season 5: Viva Las Vegas - The team divides up to solve four different cases: Grissom and Greg, who is on his final proficiency, investigate a murder at a night club, Catherine investigates a dead hooker, Warrick attempts to solve an apparent suicide, and Nick and Sara find a body near Area 51.

Season 6: Bodies in Motion - The reunited team look into an explosion at a trailer park and the discovery of a dead woman. This episode reveals the marriage between Warrick and Tina.

Season 7: Built to Kill - The team try to solve a death at Cirque du Soleil and a suicide at the implosion of Sam Braun's casino, The Rampart. The second part deals with Catherine and Lindsey's abduction and the death of Sam Braun as well as the death of Izzy Delancie. Introduces the Miniature Killer arc. Feature the addition of Louise Lombard to the main cast credits

Season 8: Dead Doll - The team try to rescue Sara from the Miniature Killer's death trap. Conclusion of the Miniature Killer arc. Features the addition of Wallace Langham to the main cast credits. Final episode with Louise Lombard.

Season 9: For Warrick - The team hunt down Warrick's killer. Final episode with Gary Dourdan. Special guest Jorja Fox.

Season 10: Family Affair - The fractured team attempt to solve the death of a movie star. Features the additon of Liz Vassey and David Berman to the main cast credits. Special Guest Jorja Fox.

for me it's either
s1 the pilot
s5 viva las vegas
s6 bodies on motion
s7 built to kill
s9 for warrick
s10 family affair
but at the moment i can't tell u which one this i have to think about

It's interesting that as I'm looking through that list, I realize how underwhelming the season premieres have been.

I'll still go with Season 2 Burked as my favorite. I might have said season 7 built to kill, but I like part 2 of the storyline better than part 1 (and part 2 wasn't the season premiere).

Just a thought:

- Three of the ten season premieres have dealings with 'reuniting' or 'reunifying' the team.

I found that interesting. For a show that was all about 'family', there has been a lot of reunifying.

My favorite season opener is a three-way-tie between "Burked," "Viva Las Vegas" and "For Warrick." I don't really count the Pilot as a 'season opener' as it was a series kick off (a great one, too), so I count the ones from season two and after.

I enjoyed "Burked" for the introduction of Sam Braun and his ties with Catherine. It gave a little more depth to the history of Las Vegas, which is great since its a show set in Vegas. "Viva Las Vegas" was flawed in some ways, but it set a very different tone for CSI, story-wise. It was a dark episode and with Greg beginning his field proficiencies, I was eager to see what lied ahead. As for "For Warrick," while it was sad to see Warrick die, the episode was written very beautifully and the memorial service at the end was one of the shows best scenes to date.

Not in any order...

Viva Las Vegas: I like how they did the four part, four CSI's cases
I also liked 4x4 for the same reason

Bodies In Motion: Brought the team back together after Nick's trauma.

Burked: More about Catherine's family and Sam Braun.

Assume Nothing: Just when you thought you had it figured out... A CSI twist.

For Warrick: Powerful and emotional

I'll go ahead and give you my thoughts. I see a premier as being the first chapter of a book. It has to grab you and entice you to go for the rest of the ride. With CSI, I like to see either a nice balance or representation of the main characters or the case has to be purely Vegas in style and feel.

My top three choices are:

1. Viva Las Vegas: It had a great balance between all the characters. The Area 51 case that tied into the Vegas Wedding Chapels was great as well.

2. Family Affair: Each character had reasonable screen time and, IMO, didn't leave you feeling like anyone was left out. Even Grissom had a presence in several ways.

3. Tied between Burked and Assume Nothing. The characters were enjoyable in each. The cases, however, were both very Vegas in feeling.

I would say Dead Doll or For Warrick, because both of them centered around CSI's that were in trouble, and it really engaged you throughout the episode. Especially Dead Doll because it wasn't revealed that Sara was alive until the end. Plus it was the ending to the S/7 cliffhanger that everybody was theorizing about all summer, which, looking back, only resulted in anxiety attacks ;)

My top choices:

s9 - For Warrick - Seemed to have more action than usual, but I liked that. It was a strong story and emotional.

s5 - Viva Las Vegas - Liked the handing out of assignments (reminded me of the early seasons :)). Also liked the multiple cases that had nothing to do with eachother.

s3 - Revenge is best served Cold - NASCAR fan here. I'll take anything with racing.

S10 - Family Affair - I liked the case. I liked that they had a little aside for each character that was seperate from the case (Greg's rant, Cath's being overwhelmed, Nick's spider).

Susan

s7 - Built To Kill Pt. 1. I liked the mini killer storyline.

s6 - Bodies in motion. LOVE that episode.

s8 - Dead Doll - Sara's alive!!

s10 - Family Affair

Dead Doll - Sara was always my favourite character, and I love Grissom, so I was so excited when that premiered.

For Warrick - It was a tough choice between FW and DD. Warrick was an amazing character, and it was so sad when he died.
