CSI Files
Captain
When a second victim is found at a crime scene in the upcoming CSI episode "No Humans...", Grissom isn't very happy - but things only get worse when a hitman kills his primary witness and then also gets involved in a deadly prison riot.
CSI Files sources today revealed the first plot information of the tenth CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode of the season, which starts when Grissom and Brass investigate a gangster style murder. When the victim's brother shows up and immediately swears vengenace, Brass puts pressure on him to give up the killer's name, which would make this an easy case. Meanwhile, Greg approaches a few kids in an alley who he sees re-enacting the shooting. But when the kids spot him, they run away, one of them so fast that he bumps into a plastic bin, which tumbles and loses its lid. Greg is stunned when he sees what's inside: a young boy, about five years old, and clearly very dead.
Greg radios Grissom, who begins to walk towards the alley. But then a young man, Andre Chambers, pushes through the crowd, runs toward the first victim's brother, and fires several bullets into his head. Then he takes off again. Momentarily everyone is stunned. Sofia Curtis bolts after Andre, and manages to apprehend him. There's clearly no doubt whatsoever about his guilt, and he's quickly sent off to prison.
That's not the last the Las Vegas CSI team gets to see of Andre. Shortly after he arrives in the prison's main holding area to await further processing, a riot breaks out among the thirty or so new inmates who share his fate. A police team is sent in to restore order, but when they see a gun drop on the floor they savagely beat the prisoners with their batons to get them under control and snatch the gun away. Finally, they manage to pacify the holding cell - but leave one prisoner unconscious on the floor.
When it becomes clear that the prisoner, Samuel Mendez, is in a coma and won't ever wake up again, Catherine, Nick and Warrick are called in to investigate. As Warrick collects the riot team's batons to determine whether one of them landed the deadly blow, Nick lines up the surviving prisoners to interrogate them. They're all uncooperative, with the exception of Andre, who tells Nick that he saw the cops beat Mendez. Nick is left to wonder - should he believe the word of this murderer, or are Andre and his cronies more guilty than they're letting on?
Meanwhile, the investigation continues into the death of the young boy Greg found. The CSIs discover his name is Devon Shepard, and he was placed in a foster home after his parents couldn't care for him anymore. This strikes a special nerve with Sara, and viewers learn why when it's revealed that Sara herself was in the system as a child. Still she sets out with Brass to question Devon's foster mother and some of the other kids who lived with him. It turns out Sara is able to connect in a special way with some of the kids, even though they serve as uncomfortable reminders of that time when her own fate was in the hands of social workers and lawyers...
"No Humans..." will likely air sometime early next month. Please note that this plot information has not been confirmed by CBS or Bruckheimer TV and until such time you should treat it as you would any other rumour from an unofficial source. The details are based on an early draft of the script and aspects of the episode may change before it goes to air.
