A DJ Showdown Turns Deadly

CSI Files

Captain
Two DJs, Paris and Stretch, spin at a club in an intense competition. The crowd cheers them on, including Paris's French girlfriend. Suddenly, DJ Stretch plays a bit of audio with Paris's girlfriend's voice on it--he recorded a phone call between the pair. Paris is enraged, but the crowd goes wild, screaming for Stretch. Stretch leaves the stage in triumph, but not for long in the new CSI: New York episode "Grand Master".

CSI Files sources recently revealed details about the fifth episode of New York's freshman season. Stretch is found murdered soon after his on-stage showdown with DJ Paris. Stretch was the victim of a stabbing, and the most obvious suspect is Paris.

The owner of the club where the showdown took place is Jayden Prince. He's none too pleased with the results of the DJing competition. Prince is sure his club is finished after this murder.

Elsewhere in the city, Stella and Danny have been called to a posh apartment. Jacqueline Gayle, a clothing designer, has been found dead in her swimming pool by her assistant, Jennifer Haynes. Stella notices blood-stained foam around the woman's mouth and nostrils, while Danny notes she has an abrasion on her forehead.

Stella talks to Jennifer, who tells her that she had just quit working for Jacqueline because of the woman's eccentric habits and demanding nature. She was at the apartment to pick up her last paycheck and drop off her set of keys to Jacqueline's place when she discovered her former boss floating in the pool. She tried CPR, but it was too late.

Mac and Aiden question DJ Paris at the nightclub. He tells them he thinks Stretch deserved to win the contest, but witnesses say he left the stage in anger and had a confrontation with his girlfriend. He claimes that though he went into the alley where DJ Stretch was found, he never saw his body. Mac examines his shoes and finds blood on them, contradicting his story.

Stella and Danny's investigation leads them to an upscale sushi restaurant, where the sushi is served on naked women. Jacqueline frequented the restaurant, and poisoned blowfish was a favorite delicacy of hers. She had eaten there the night she died. Stella thinks that blowfish poison may have killed Jacqueline, and issues a warrant for the fish in question. But the chef is insistant that it couldn't have been the blowfish; he tried it himself before serving it...
