I agree with that and think that TPTB take the "tell and don't show" approach. But from what I can see I don't feel like their relationship outside of work has that much substance. At least that's how I see it seeing as none of their private moments never really happen anywhere... private...

To be honest I'm not sure how close of friends they really are. So far this season all of their important moments have either happened at work or while on the clock. It's like that's the only place they ever see each other or talk to each other.
