I think it's usually a bit earlier i.e. early July when filming starts. But if CSI NY has a shorter episode run, they may not start back quite as early.

Flack would make a better choice for Jo (IMO) than Mac, because it would avoid all the complications of inter-lab dating. As Mac is Jo's boss, it would be a bit awkward if they hooked up. Whereas Flack is in a completely different chain of command, so there wouldn't be any problems there...
