For me, it's Don Flack who's had the best development this season. Before season 5 the only well developed characters were Mac, Stella and Danny which is shameful after 4 seasons. It was about time the others got a look in. In fact I think tptb have done a great job of sharing the storylines...

I read elsewhere that they've definitely changed the schedule so that the new episode airs next week, they then have a double episode of Criminal Minds on the 22nd apparently, then NY is on continuously from the 29th until the finale.

I doubt they're ignoring it, more that they just don't see things the way you do. Tptb obviously see chemistry and they've written them to be in love, irrespective of how 'believable' that is to everyone. Basically, some people believe, some don't. :)
