    Emmanuelle/Angell thread #1- Detective "Angel"

^ That's not unusual -- the NYPD is chock full of legacy hires (as are many police forces).

    CSI books.

Book publishing works on a much longer schedule than TV production, so the schedule for CSI books was established quite some time ago, and isn't affected in either direction by the strike. Here's what is currently scheduled to be coming out over the next few months (note that this is subject to...

    Emmanuelle/Angell thread #1- Detective "Angel"

So now we have more info about Detective Angell -- she has four older brothers, and her dad's a detective sergeant. Veddy eenterestink....

    Grade 'Commuted Sentences'

Loved getting the background on Angell (and it happened just in time for me to be able to squeeze in a reference to it in Four Walls, which has quite a bit of Angell), and loved her and Flack flirting. There was more heat in that one scene than in all the Danny/Lindsay scenes from the past two...

    Grade 'Boo'

More than you might think, actually. :) I know there are regular cricket games in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx during warm-weather months, and there are other parks that host cricket as well. That's the great thing about this city, you can find just about anything if you look hard enough...

    Grade 'Boo'

*sigh* There is no reason, none for a city crime lab tech to work a scene in Amityville. Makes nothing like jurisdictional sense. I find it ridiculous enough when Mac's people leave Manhattan, much less leave the five boroughs -- that's way out of their jurisdiction. And the usual "well, it's...

    Emmanuelle/Angell thread #1- Detective "Angel"

The book involves two cases. One is a death in custody -- actually, two deaths -- in a Staten Island medium-security prison, one of which is easy to solve, the other one, not so much. The other is a woman found dead in an Italian bakery in the Bronx, where the obvious suspect may not be the...

    Grade 'Time's Up'

There's one reason why I think that the letter from Peyton might be a fake: The letter spelled the word "realize." Except Peyton is British, and writing from the UK, and in the UK, they spell it "realise." Now it could just be that the prop-master screwed the pooch on that one, and you can...

    Emmanuelle/Angell thread #1- Detective "Angel"

For everyone's information, Angell plays a decent-sized role in my CSI: NY novel Four Walls, coming out next May. She was fun to write. :) I too hope they give her more to do on the show....

CSI:NY Season 4 Spoilers: Hot Off The Press!

There is nothing in the world stupider than getting involved with someone you work with, for reasons that were very clearly demonstrated in "Snow Day."

CSI:NY Season 4 Spoilers: Hot Off The Press!

Of course he still is. Mac only threatened to go public with Dobson's belt. Besides which, what Gerrard covered up wouldn't cost him his job, it would just make him and Sinclair look bad. There's no reason why Gerrard shouldn't be around, and I hope he is since a) Carmen Argenziano is an...

    CSI books.

 No, no plans for forensic cases on the Enterprise right present. (For those of you who don't know, I've written a dozen Star Trek novels, as well as a bunch of Trek short stories and eBooks, with more of all three on the way...) Actually, my favorite CSI series is the original, of the...

    CSI books.

The next CSI: NY book after Deluge will be out in May of next year. I know this because I'm in the midst of writing it right now. :) It's called Four Walls, and will include a double murder in a prison on Staten Island and a homicide in an Italian bakery in the Bronx.
