They tried this trick with CSILV--running an "intellectual" cop show, i.e. The Mentalist after a more action-oriented show. Didn't work then. I was pretty convinced the show would be cancelled last year. So an 18-ep finale is just fine with me.

I guess I now just view it as a complex Whack-a-Mole game. There is no logic where the clues are placed. There's no social aspect of it--that you can play with other people. I dunno, it just seems like something you would do if you had 10 minutes to kill at the airport before a flight.

Happy that the show is back. I also like that they will still be back-to-back with Blue Bloods. It's a great 2 hours of viewing.

Just way too predictable as a finale. We are left for month to speculate over who died, therefore preserving rating over the Summer. The "''H' got shot," scenario is not new. But it will explain the cancellation of the show, if it were to happen. And the death of NBV (which would suck, IMO)...
