1. What other TV shows do you really like (past or present)? Battlestar Galactica (TNS), Doctor Who, Heroes
2. Do you collect merchandise/memorabilia for any of these shows? If so, what do you have? I have the soundtracks to BSG, and the DVDs to all of the shows I listed, but no action figures...
I'm getting ready to drive to Ann Arbor to see the Nittany Lions beat the Wolverines for the first time since 1996! :D
I'm not actually all that confident. Michigan has a knack for beating us, it would seem. Our offense needs to show they can play against a real team...not that UM's defense is...
Every few weeks on my other board the subject of "Tennant vs. Eccleston" comes up. I prefer Eccleston, but like Tennant too and will be sad to see him go. Tennant can just be a little too goofy at times, but 90% of the time he's brilliant.
The Doctor - Doctor Who. I don't know if I like the Ninth or Tenth better. Hmmm. But seriously, if he existed it would be wonderful.
I also have a bit of a thing for Claude from "Heroes" - especially in the flashback scene in 'Company Man'. I think it's because of Christopher Eccleston. :D
Mr. Darcy - honestly, what's not to like?
James Callis playing Gaius Baltar, since he's brilliant in the role. The character himself, not so much. But I'd want Callis in character...I'm afraid this doesn't make any sense.
Blade Runner
I'm on a bit of a sci-fi streak here, it would seem. It was very dark and atmospheric and very different from the standard action/sci-fi flick. I'm supposed to read some article describing all of the symbolism to 'fully appreciate' the film. I got a kick out of seeing Edward...
Serenity
I imagine it would have made more sense had I seen Firefly, but I enjoyed it once I figured out what was going on. They did a decent job making it accessible to non-fans - still, I wish I had a browncoat there to explain some of the early stuff. I'm not a fan of the Reaver sequences...
Someone on another board hypothesized that EvilNathan might actually be Sylar so I wasn't surprised. They tossed in a line before the big reveal that hinted at it - Nathan says "I know how things work." It's little details like that that make this show great. :)
Re: Without A Trace #2 *Spoilers*
Sorry, I don't watch this show but the 2-year anniversary of Ray Gricar's disappearance came around and I know there was an episode based on his case. I'm curious if anyone remembers it?
Re the Pens losing - I have come to the conclusion that if I root for a team I doom them. There is no other possible explanation. So I apologize to all Pens fans for accidentally dooming your team.
-I am addicted to talking to certain people on IM. One hasn't shown up on my online-verse in two days and I am beginning to experience withdrawal symptoms.
-the song "Under Pressure" by Bowie/Queen
-cinnamon toast crunch. Every single day for lunch while in school.
It will be nice when I can actually watch some of these games - I only get the ones shown on NBC since my silly school doesn't carry Versus.
Yesterday I was busy during the NBC game so I couldn't watch. :(
Re: 3rd Post Count Party !!
Yeah, well, you have almost twice as many posts as I do over there, so I'm not quite as bad. :p
And that will be my last post in this thread until I hit 100 and get an avatar.
I feel really geeky saying this, but I recently purchased seasons 1&2 of the new Battlestar Galactica off of the recommendation of a friend. If this friend has his way, I'll also end up buying LOST, Doctor Who, Firefly...craziness.
