It's also made everything go faster : before automatical fingerprint search was introduced ( AFIS ) , the police had to compare fingerprints with the database of the city ... Imagine having to compare 10,000 fingerprints ... DNA ( how to sequence it ) has given the police unique caracteristics...

I enjoy the theoretical aspect of genetics, but I much more prefer the chemistry behind firearms and explosives. That's what I hope to specialise in. THe great thing in England, is that, seeing as forensics arent so developped, you do a bit of everything.

Re: fibers/ washing the mouth most likely there'd be bruises, but with very soft fabric (like a silk scarf), and some other materials, you woumdn't see bruised. Also, for stranglation, you dont have to wrap something around him : put someones neck between two pieces of wood, and you'll strangle...

For everyone that hasn't started university yet, one advice : don't study forensics straight away, do physics or chemistry (probably chemistry), biology, basically science. Some of my friends went to an american college to study forensics, and now they're going back to uni to study a "general"...
