Decent episode but nothing to write home about. Sara would have been great in this episode,especially in dealing with the little boy that has just lost both of his parents in different ways.

When a show has been on the air long enough,there is often turnover and the new writers brought in often forget what made the show so special in the first place. I think that is what is happening now. More to the point,writers are human just like everyone else and they will often stick...

Overall was very disappointed with this episode. To only have Marg come back in flashbacks was a huge letdown and made a solid case less so with all the flashbacks etc. And the fact Nick's absence wasn't addressed at all in this episode didn't help either.

I like this episode. Less personal stuff and more investigating.

I'm upset but also glad that CSI NY got an extra season. Nine seasons is nothing to sneeze at and in a way,I'd rather it end the way it did versus sputter towards the end like (IMO) CSI MIami and Without A Trace did. As a fan of Cold Case as well I can tell you that CSI NY got far better...

I'm hoping Red John will get caught before the end. It will be intresting to see how Jane is after he's gone.

It feels weird to not have Ziva on the show but it does give others a chance to shine. I will also that with Ziva gone,the soap opera route that doomed Without A Trace was avoided.

As Finch said,the first spinoff tends to be more successful then the rest. Plus,there are so many shows based in NYC already,hard to make it seem new.

Going to be weird next month when the show isn't on the scedule...once NCIS and CSI go..my viewership on CBS will likely come to an end.

Tried getting into this but it just doesn't do it for me.

I too would have liked to see them delve more into Adam's family. Also would have liked to see how Sid ended up with his cancer. And of course,seeing if Mac ties the knot or not.

Talked Angela into doing a 12th season,then proceeded to put it in the same timeslot as Friends,knowing they would get clobbered in the ratings and thus could use that as an excuse to cancel the show,which they did. I know we are upset with CBS over CSI Miami and NY but they've done far worse...

RIP to one of the finest actors in the business,James Gandolfini.

Writers do come and go. Also,when the writer's strike happened,many of the writers left and never came back.

I only hope it doesn't become a soap opera kind of thing. Been too much of that on many crime shows.

I wish Paget Brewster hadn't left the show but I fully understand why she did. Just another "smart" move by CBS.

Just saw this episode on my DVR. Mark Hamill was great and in retrospect,who he was made perfect sense. Only someone with direct access to the various cases could know all the details about when most of them hadn't even made it to trial. Which would mean the FBI or Justice Department. Wasn't...
