^ Deaths of primary characters usually are, to some degree, "major events". And in telling us it'll change the team forever and having the death occur in the finale I think it's safe to say it's going to be a bit of a big deal. Of course we'll have to see the episode to make our own judgments...

So I just watched the .gif the whole way through and as good as it is I think a part of the problem is going to be that its just toooo long. The reason most animations in icons are so short is to keep the size down. That many frames is going to drive the size of the animation up very quickly...

Are you using the Adobe suite programs? If you are, when you go to save the image, choose "save for web and devices" rather than save or save as. Then you can specifically tune the quality and compress the .gif properly.

I'm very rarely disappointed when CSI goes big for one of it's episode milestones, but there's something about this synopsis that sounds kind of hokey. I hope the episode doesn't come off that way too.
