Like yourself I jumped into the show watching on A&E. The majority of the eps are stand alone cases and even those that are part of a story arc are written as standalones so you won't have too much trouble following them

I agree with those of you upset by the end scene. It was a bad way to end what was otherwise a good episode and I found it comedic as well. Another thought, if I were him I doubt I'd stick around considering what got everyone could get me

After what happened to Rick, I think they best keep them out lest they suffer the CSI Miami Hatchet job to their characters.

Horatio got him in a later episode for murder so I doubt he'll be back this late

My theory is I like this person but their duration might make them a suitable candidate

In regards to Nevins, I was under the impression that his reaction was subdued due to his frosty relationship with her. They split on bad terms and while he may have worked with her on a professional level, I have a feeling he had that "I'll never forgive her for what she did" notion
