My guess would be it's a character from a more buzz-worthy show... GA is a good guess (I imagine DH will kill off at least one character in its final season). I can't see the value in CSI doing away with Nick (or any other character) right now, especially in the wake of Catherine's departure...

Yeah, kind of my thoughts on it, too. I think the show was lucky to get an eighth season. This hiatus seems to be an answer to how to stretch out the 18 episodes over the whole schedule (Sept. through May). it's still going to suck for the show to be off the air for 6 weeks though!

Season 7 was when I started to really lose interest in the show. Jo is a great addition, but the show is definitely aging. I'm not sure I'd call season 7 the worst, but it's definitely when my interest really started to wane.

Season 1 by far, though seasons 2, 3 and 4 had some really excellent episodes as well. But I loved the overall feel of the show and the darkness of season 1.

Oh wow, hope that his dad recovers. That's definitely sad and scary. :(
