Carol and Rich came up with the story, but the episode is written by Thomas Hoppe, who is Carol Mendelsohn's assistant.

My advance review of the episode is now up for reading on the main site: "Karma to Burn." I did my best to keep it light on spoilers. It's a good episode... not as strong as "73 Seconds," but there's some good moments in it. What I failed to mention is that the new characters getting premium...

Oh, no. I remember spoilers (or maybe it was a quote from a cast member) saying that Nick would be at a bar, instigate a fight and Sara would come to the rescue. That's not the situation at all.

There is no bar fight. Alcohol is involved, but Nick is not seen at a bar.

I picked up the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly. Some of it is info we already know, but there's a few new tidbits: Paging DJRideout. ;)

There's a blurb in the latest Entertainment Weekly:

Rather interesting that they killed Warrick during the 2008 presidential election and now they're bringing the character back into the fold during the new election. Really no connection to the two, obviously, but kinda interesting. (P.S. Warrick's storyline is in episode 7, written by Tom Mularz.)

I think the problem is that it's just inconsistent with how the show played out during the early years. Grissom & co. would always say to a victim's family that "we're not cops, we're scientists. We follow the evidence." And that's how Anthony Zuiker sold the show; as going UNDERNEATH the yellow...
