True--my views are rather skewed compared to everyone else. I consider a "story arc" to be a story concerning a specific character, such as the Tanglewood story was for Danny (or references to Mac's late wife, Claire throughout S1 followed up with the arrival of Reed in S3; Mac's marine corps...

Flack had a story arc this season? I watched every episode and missed it! I'd love to see some solid character development for him, but I don't have much faith that this will be the season for it.

I never expected Flack to be all angst-ridden, but it would have been nice to see some sort of minor reactions tossed in the early part of the season here and there--some reaction of pain or slowing down while chasing a suspect, a startled reaction to really loud bangs--something to indicate...

I guess that would also depend on when they start the new season--immediately after the events of the S3 finale, or some weeks/months later (like they did following the S2 finale). Whatever they do at the start of S4, I hope they don't drop the continuity ball on what happened to Danny and Adam...

Perhaps they'll bring Louie back in early S4, especially if the writers allow Danny to react to what happened to him and Adam in the finale. Could be a great Danny arc!

Well, I suppose that's great news for all the D/L shippers. Since I'm not one, this is just another nail in the coffin for me. It's looking more and more like I'll be busy doing other things on Wednesday nights starting this fall.

Pretty much my sentiments, too, except I didn't get the part about the "Flack arc"--what? A couple scenes of tenseness between Mac and Flack isn't exactly what I'd call an arc. I must have missed something, but then, this season wasn't all that inspiring for me. There were some good points, so...

I found it very off-putting, too. Although Flack's my favorite character, I hate seeing him in implausible situations--it throws me right out of the story.

I don'think so, especially if it is Mac and Danny who suffer the most. I worry that they might drop the ball with continuity for Danny's story, but anything happening to Mac will undoubtedly be carried through into S4.

Really? I don't recall a Flack-focused episode since "The Fall" back in S1. The few eps where he had some "tense interactions" with Mac were actually Mac-focused episodes. At best, I think Flack only gets an occasional scene where he's not just looking pretty or snarking the best one-liners...
