I agree. if the writers cannot come up with a dynamic single crime story; make it a doulbe crime episode. I preferred the double case shows because it played off the charcters as they worked in pairs. I liked that better and it made the redundant autopsy room scenes frustrating.

Yes, I feel the same way. I love the Mentalist, but mainly because of Simon Baker. But this season the Mentalist/CSI NY cases seem to be centered on the upper-crust of society and kind of sick of that.
