She does suck it up, but isn't it professional to keep yourself out of situation where you possibly could lose it? Her stepping off could be more professional than staying on.

Well, CSI is directly competing against So You Think You Can Dance, the number 1 show, as well. I'm pretty sure NY actually improved in the ratings, so it's not all the CSIs.

Even if she grew up in the country, she's probably lived in Bozeman for a few years, and you tend to lose an accent over time. Bozeman may not be as big as NY, but it's certainly not a small town. I'm sure there's some diversity. And today, with TV, dialects and accents are far less common...

Montana is no where near the south. I wouldn't expect her to have a southern accent.
