You know what's cool a swap in leaders. Can you imagine the following: Horatio Caine running the crime lab of Las Vegas or New York? Catherine Willows running the lab of Miami or New York? Mac Taylor running the lab of Miami or Las Vegas? I'll be looking forward to seeing such (temporarily) change.

Liev Schreiber in his role as Keppler did make a change in direction of CSI. Too bad, he needed to be killed off.

Thing is, things are become more and more about the same. A change in approach might make difference. An option could be more character focused. Another option is closing a huge file once in four or five episodes.

I love the show, because of the mass black out, and the consequences of (not) seeing the future. How people are going to respond to it. Furthermore, I believe this will be a oneshot TV series. Season 2? Nah, I don't think so.

If there'll be a spin-off I too would prefer Chicago. Otherwise Los Angeles.

Not necessarily. It took a season or 6 of NCIS to get a NCIS Los Angeles. If the current series maintain success, I wouldn't be surprised to see another spin-off of CSI, but only not at this point.
