It appears that the departure of a regular cast member has an impact on the series? Why's that? It's understandable that the show needs something new to keep it attractive to us. Is it really necessary to rely on the cast?

What sort of case would you like to see in CSI? I'd like to see a case like this.... A great event in Las Vegas, ends up with a public murder of an important politician. As usually the FBI will overrule the CSI, but the CSI's discovered a dark history of the murdered politician....
