I second that thought, Jacquie! Nick took it upon himself to get the training to replace Grissom as the 'bug guy' and has been a great teacher to all the 'newer' CSIs. He's shown leadership and the skills that have earned him the role of assistant supervisor.

I tend to disagree with the Nick and Greg friendship/working together thing. Even before Warrick was killed, Nick and Greg had a good friendship. Just remember who spoke the line "Leggo of my Greggo" and the 'name the chemical compound' scene. I think the betting thing might be George's input...

And I believe what PC and everyone else is saying is that the character, as written, is at fault, NOT the actor. If the writers want us to question this character's motives and actions, then they did their job well, as did LF when he brought their lines to life. We, as viewers, do not have to...

Okay my bad. I guess my frustration with the scene must have been that he didn't give Nick any reason for leaving. He could have quickly said that Catherine needed him back at the lab. His leaving was abrupt and, IMO, rude.

Even though Ray finally did listen to Catherine last night, he really displayed an attitude that would get him into trouble in most work situations. I knew it was going to be the 'Ray Show' when he stormed out of the barn, leaving Nick behind. I KNOW that in the next scene we saw him with Brass...

Loved the lab scene, Jacquie. I want to rewatch the epi just for that scene alone. <sigh> They are just sooo cute together.
