I hope so because Miami already has 10 seasons and NY only has 8. Would be nice if NY can reach season 10 too. Wasn't Miami's finale supposed to be a cliffhanger? Maybe the writers got a clue from CBS not to end the show with a cliffhanger?

The ratings released by Nielsen are gathered from 25,000 households here in the US. Though there are over 100 million households here, they say 25,000 is statistically acceptable to accurately measure the ratings.
