I definitely wouldn't say that Danny's glasses are nothing. Obviously this prop means something to Carmine. From the way he described it in the interview, it seemed like the glasses were important to the character and how Carmine interprets the character. So he removed them in order to approach...

On the reusing of the scene, CSI: NY is filmed in LA. They only go to NY a few times a year, and probably don't get to film a lot of cops rush onto the scene shots. Though they might wanna try filming a few more next time they're in NY, this one seems to have run its course. :P

I LOVE Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss. I saw it before I'd even heard of Carmine. It's just a great movie to watch even if you're not interested in him. But Carmine's bit is GOLDEN! "I'm gonna be trippin' tonight." hehe
