    I know the chances of this being right are pretty much non-exsistant, but I'll throw it out there anyway. You could (theoretically possible) scrape under the nails at the crime scene. Of course, (as far as I know) that isn't procedure and probably wouldn't be done.

    The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police!) invited people to participate in the making of a footprint database (Go Canadians!!! Woohoo!) I'm just guessing at the concept part but here it is: Is it because (like fingerprints) feet come in different shapes and each have their own original print?
