CSI Season 9 DVD pre order

You can pre-order CSI season 9 DVD at Amazon.com for $31.99 - it will be available Sept 1.

Wow! That's kind of a bargain, isn't it? Considering they're still selling the "half-season" Season 8 for aroung $50.
That is a bargin.I think it was listed for a few dollars more several days ago, maybe $35.00. It's too good a bargin to pass up.

edit: It was Miami that was $34.99

I've noticed before that pre-orders can be quite a lot cheaper. Especially for the region 1 sets.

I thought it was a great deal too so I had to pass it along. Did I mention its also FREE SHIPPING?

So now I'm thinking....DVD at around $40-$50....Blu-Ray at around $80-$90...and they are probably going to stick a bunch of extra cool stuff on the Blu-Ray. :( No wonder the DVD is cheaper this go around.

usually the blu ray extras are blu ray live stuff...

SO happy they are finally going with blu ray release. But the miami and new york ones are still only dvd so far. Just picked up the season one blu rays, very happy with the quality. The season one dvds were kind of crappy. Finally in widescreen!

Plus it has different special features like a gag reel and the directors cut of the pilot with deleted scenes....man, it was strange to watch nick and cath make out in the car. yikes!

Exactly what I mean about the extras on the blu-ray version. :( They need to issue one DVD with just the extra stuff on it. Of course, that doesn't make them as much money as making people buy all the DVDs and then all the blu-rays.

Kind of like how I own some music on album, cassette, and CD.

Wonder when it'll show up in Ireland? Took ages before the second part of Season 8 was available!

Well, I've ordered mine! Now maybe I'll forget that I ordered it and I'll have a nice surprise on my doorstep one day in September!

Well, I'll say one thing about the blu-ray, you can't make caps from it. Not in the traditional sense, I'm still trying to figure it out. I'll probaby have to rip (if my computer has enough space), cap what I want and then trash it.

Otherwise, the Ward girls may never see Nick's tattoo. :)

Any news on what possible commentaries and extras season 9 will have?

I really want a commentary for Turn, Turn, Turn.

The only known special feature known so far is one featuring Billy Petersen. According to Corinne Marrinan:

Marrinan: My final act as the Multimedia Producer was when Billy [Petersen, Gil Grissom] was leaving the show and a lot of the affiliates wanted a live interview with Billy and it was just getting to be way too much. It was like thirty people who wanted to come interview Billy on camera. So CBS publicity called me because they know I make documentaries and they know I've known Billy forever and said, "Hey, will you do us a favor? Will you do Billy's final big interview, and take all the questions that everybody has and just do one big interview with him? And then we'll send the tapes to all the different affiliates." So in the writers' room, I'm breaking my story and they're like, "Can you do this for us tomorrow?" So I took a break from my script and went and did an hour-long interview with Billy, which turned out really well actually. We'd never done that before--I'd never interview him for anything. It's hard to interview somebody you know; there's so much [the interviewee] leave out because you know the other person knows the answer. So you just go, "Oh, I'm not going to tell that anecdote because she was there!" And your brain kind of shoves things to the side that you know the other person already knows. It worked out pretty well. That was my last thing I did before moving over.

CSI Files: Do you think that interview will end up on the season nine DVD set?

Marrinan: It will, actually. As it should be, you won't know that I'm interviewing him--it's just footage of him. He did all the work; I didn't have a camera on me

From a CSI Files interview dated last month.
