Well, I had low expectations going in, so I thought it was alright. Definitely not a 200th episode though. The case was nothing special but I did like the Ray/Student scenes. I think the one thing CSI is terrible at is letting us get to know the victims so that we can feel something for them when there dead.
I liked that I actually got to know the student a bit and I felt really sorry for Ray. I liked the flashback scenes, something I think CSI should do more of. (Not just the high contrast flashbacks of the murders)

Um. Yeah. So not great but okay. I probably won't watch it again. I was a little sad that Grissom wasn't mentioned at all, but then almost none of the current characters were even in it.

I did like the Hodges/Wendy scene at the beginning.

I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary on this CLEARLY far more hyped than it was worth episode. You're HYSTERICAL!
I'm so bummed everyone is disappointed...but maybe the fan outcry will bring improvements in the future? And did we ever clear up whether or not Billy was slated to appear in this epi? I was very much looking forward to seeing him...Freidken said he hung out on set for filming of the 200th, but if I were him I think I'd be disappointed; even the synopsis of the plot line was disappointing.

Holy conflict of interests! I don't know that I expected anything different but if a CSI knows someone well enough to recognize them, provide name, history and occupation while said person is laying at their feet deceased I think they should excuse themselves from the case.
But you know, maybe that's just me

I know that there have been critiques that the processing of audio/video evidence is not realistic (too much focusing, too much detail, etc) and I appreciate that maybe the writers are trying to remedy that. But isn't there a better way then "zoom in. No further. further. No do it again" ?
All I'm going to say is Archie could have made it clear ;)

First they take the theme song out. Then Ray gets most of the 45 minutes of the episode to himself. I must say the only things I liked about this episode was any thing that Nick and Greg did and the Hodges/Wendy scene. It was interesting to see this side of Ray, but at the same time, this was a really bad 200th episode. Next week's episode looks interesting, though, and I hope it tops this episode by a lot. And I mean, a lot.

Sadly, I have to count myself amongst those who were disappointed in this episode. I just found it... well, boring :(

I haven't gotten to watch the episode yet (Darn those Grey's fans for taking every television on west campus), but I remember watching Cockroaches, which had the same director. I know he's a really, really amazing director, but I couldn't stand that episode, and not just because I love Warrick. I could be wrong about the cause, but I got the feeling that his style just didn't mesh with the show's general format. I'm probably gonna watch the big #200 once it's up on CBS, but, based on board comments so far, it sounds like it's almost a waste of time. Would you guys say that this episode had a similar feel to Cockroaches?

Hey, Greg can't help it he has been relegated down to Audio/Video guy? But I admit, Ray was getting on my nerves in that scene with him going back and forth on zooming and not zooming. Of course he got on my nerves almost the whole episode.

Cockroaches was better than this episode though. But I did notice that Freidkin uses a weird filter when he films his episodes. It does not look like a normal CSI ep.

I liked Ray's intensity, but do wanna know what the heck he was doing working the case. They should listen to Mac Taylor when he said that even a brief meeting is too much, and this is a lot more.

I also want a concrete answer about Catherine. Why can't they do a female lead?

Yay at Nick speaking Spanish. But yeah, subtitles would be nice. I can pick up a word here and there from high school Spanish class but not very often.

I'm glad they aren't doing Miracle!Zoom anymore but "blow it up...blow it up...blow it up..." does make me wanna say "enough already!"

The opening scene squicked me. Eek.

Ray better be careful or he'll be getting suspended or worse arrested for assault. I loved the intensity, like I said, but he should be careful.

I was not impressed with the Ray Langston hour. Holy Rotten Episode. What the heck happened to the rest of the cast that has been there since the beginning  The director spent far too much time on the wrestling. It was jsut a filler and an annoying one at that. I understand that the wrestling was part of the show but we didn't need to see so much of it.

I also agree with bookgirl's comment about this being a conflict of interest. Catherine wasn't allowed to work on anything that was remotely connected with Sam's casinos so why should Ray be allowed to work on a former student's death

    Overall not a good episode.

I was going to write a whole thing on what I liked and then contrast with what I didn't like....but in all honesty this 200th episode sucked. I feel bad for my friends as I reminded them it was on, I'm going to get an earful later, thanks writers!

All in all boring ep and very predictable...and seriously just because Archie is MIA is not a reason to stick Greg on desk duty. He would have kicked butt at the wrestling arena.

Well, this episode just made my top ten list...of episodes I swear I will never watch again.

That was just simply awful. Words can't describe how I cringed through this terribly written, acted and directed episode.

And was that Nick's desk Langston walked in and just sat down at like he owned it...Please.

That was BAD. Worse than bad....horrendous is more like it.

    *falls down*

They took the THEME SONG out!?!?

Ooooh much anger....much much anger... :scream::scream::scream::scream::scream:

    UN-freaking-BELIEVABLE.

Ray Langson or no Ray Langston or Fishburne or whoever, they are NOT worthy of ditching the theme song for more attention.

Oh my freaking goodness this was THE MOST boring episode EVER! I think I might even include all three CSI shows in that. Big, fat DISAPPOINTMENT! Epic FAIL! Ugh! I should have watched Supernatural and recorded CSI so I could have ffwd through all the boring parts which would have been more than half of the episode. The only good parts were Nick speaking Spanish, Brass' funny lines and the Wendy/Hodges scenes was kind of funny. And I liked Greg saying "what the hell was she doing in that neighborhood?" The rest, boring. Mexican wrestling, boring.

No opening credits this time and just one "who are you"? Weird.

What was with those stupid drums? God that was annoying!

What a strange scene for Brass and Nick to walk in on.

Why is Greg doing Archie's job? Well, I'm just thankful he was, otherwise he wouldn't have even been in the episode.

The interviews with the wrestlers were a major bore!

Totally called that the wrestler was gonna die. But, man he's so big it took three hits to the chest to do him in. And they didn't even find his body? :wtf:

Suspect's blaming a god? That's just like blaming the devil.

Ray getting angry... wow. Did he break the window on the door? Wait, nevermind. I really don't give a rat's hiney. It doesn't change how boring the episode was.

I'm pissed Greg only got one scene. Ugh. This is the 200th episode and those who have been there the longest should have had more scenes, they've earned that right!

Cath got 4, Nick 3 and Greg only 1. Though Brass got seven scenes, that's the most he's gotten in a while.

Episode Grade: F+ (and the plus is only for the very tiny things that I did like)

Mac isn't exactly the poster child for conflicts of interest, but you are right.

The episode was just kind of boring. I looked up at 9:50 and went "It's almost over? I wouldn't have noticed, I was too busy searching for the plot."

I was so bored my mind wandered. It was such a boring episode I would have been more entertained having a conversation with an inantimate object!
