Dourdan Pleads Guilty

CSI Files

Captain
It's time to move forward.
Following his arrest in April, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) was charged with felony possession of heroin, cocaine and ecstasy. The heroin count was dismissed; however, the actor pleaded guilty to cocaine and ecstasy possession at his arraignment Wednesday morning in Indio, California.
Dourdan's charges could have earned him nearly four years in prison. Luckily, the CSI star won't be going to jail. He will, however, need to complete the 16-class drug treatment program and pay standard court fees.
"As a result of today's proceedings, Gary has been given diversion (a drug treatment program)," said his lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley. "He very much regrets what happened and he's very embarrassed by what occurred, but he's looking forward to moving on and getting back to work." Holley went on to say, "He is very grateful to the court for being understanding and giving him an opportunity to resolve the issue and move forward."
The original articles are from ET Online and People.com. I don't mean to sound mean or vindictive, but it figures that a known celebrity would get out of having to do some jail time. Had it been a regular citizen, he or she would probably be doing at least 30 days in the klink. Just speculation on my part.

I hope Gary gets the help he needs along with the support of his family and friends. I would hate to see this gifted actor go the tragic route.

That's what $$$ and a good attorney do, and he does have to go to classes, and Indio, lord that's in my neck of the woods, hot-hot place, I'm glad he's off the hook as far as jail time, he made a wrong decision and some bad choices, that I'm sure he regrets and this is a wake-up call. Good luck Gary:bolian:

Actually, it sounded like he had a smart attorney that actually bargained - dismiss one charge and no jail time, and we plead guilty to the two other charges.
