This is definitely not a romance poem, but it's a poem nonetheless. It's about Calleigh having to bail her Dad out at a very young age.

The little girl walks down to the police station,
Bail money in hand,
The nice policeman called her mom,
Said her dad could barely stand,
But mom can't take the money,
But she said, "My little girl can".

She walks into the station,
She's done this once before,
She thought it was normal at first,
But now she's not so sure,
Lizzie's never done it,
And she's the same age as her.

"Hello lambchop," her daddy says from behind the bars,
She hands the policeman the check,
And then she takes her daddy's hands,
And they walk down the steps,
"This is the last time lambchop," he swears,
He kneels down and she throws her arms around his neck.

But next week will be the same,
Calleigh knows this for a fact,
Because every promise her dad has made,
Has always been an act,
She knows he'll go to the bar again,
And she'll have to come back.
