My little commentary on this weeks episode, missed it last night as I was out, thank god for reruns on Sunday nights…

I find it a bit strange that Lindsay and Danny would be left to work a crime scene that large without either Stella or Mac leading the investigation. Though it’s interesting seeing the pair working together & to see how they’ll deal with the severity of the case.

Don’t like this blasé attitude towards Mac’s 333 calls, but I suppose it’s because we know different. We the viewers know better to write something like that off as nothing. Whereas in the world the characters inhibit, they would obviously not think into such depth as we would. (Though I can’t say I wouldn’t be freaked out somewhat with phone calls at 3:33am – even after changing my number!)

What’s going on with Hawkes? Are they trying to push him out or something? There seems to be less and less of him each week! It’s the same with Flack, where are they keeping him these days? Tied to his desk? He’s only made one appearance in this episode so far! Hang on he’s just jumped out of the elevator – but for how long? Hmm…

Lindsay opening the suitcase with no gloves, why do they always do this?

And, just before the episode is out… Oh, hi Flack! You’re back! Come to join the party?

Overall, I enjoyed this episode. I liked the Halloween angle, zombies & the Amityville House of Horror theme – it made for good viewing. Though I’m sure I’ve seen the whole ‘faking death’ thing before, but I don’t know from where. I think it was in a film, or another episode of CSI? Maybe Miami? Does this ring any bells for anyone else? It's driving me mad that I can't remember! lol

I've only just watched it as I was out last night too. Suprisingly not too bad considering Ms Monroe was out in the field - there was just the 1 'cringe-worthy wooden' scene when the old woman grabbed her and said actress froze (as in freeze-frame, not scared stiff) WTF!!! As for Danny 'touching' her on the shoulder, I like to think that he was about to push her into the suitcase with the other emotionless character (retracts claws ) I also had a giggle and a sly smirk when Danny called her 'Honey' (at least I think that's what he called her). It was when they where out on the veranda and Ms Monroe was about to argue with the sheriff, Danny called her name, but then ever so quietly (SO QUIETLY I had to higher the volume and play it back 5 times to check) he 'whispered' Honey. I like to think that he was being totally sarcastic & patronising when he used this term of endearment
That scene with Mac & the eyes showed just how special he is - a voodoo doctor and a blind woman can sense his problems. It also showed his pig-headedness, and that he's heading for a fall.

I loved the idea of a Halloween episode, this one felt a bit like an X Files "Monster of the Week" story in reverse - starting off spooky, getting more down-to-earth throughout. (Oh, and did anyone else notice the Morley cigarettes?). The teaser was very XF-esque too, seemingly irrelevant until later on when we discovered the "Zombie" was the same guy.

    - Had a bit of a geeky fangirl moment on spotting Robert Picardo, my inner Trekkie was cheering. He was fab, and I'm glad he didn't turn out to be the bad guy.
    - Mac in a leather jacket *drool* and he's not getting the 3.33am calls anymore. I also find it weird that nobody else seems to be taking it seriously, but maybe it's just because they don't know they're in a TV show
    - Lindsey and Danny's case was REALLY creepy with the scary old lady in the house (anyone notice she looked a lot tidier by the time they arrested her though?)
    - Creey!Sid returns! Last couple of weeks he's seemed almost normal so I'm glad we got to see him with the candles in the autopsy room. I did feel they could have taken that further though, we all know Sid loves to go to that creepy place, and in an already spooky episode there was room for more from him.
    - Hawkes barely appears, but at least we got some gun porn with him Mac with the cricket bat was hot too.
    - The guy who faked his own death, reminded me of that episode last season where the scientists were trying to cause human hibernation (can't remember the title, but someone stole him from the morgue before Peyton discovered he was still alive)
    - More 333 with the psychic's eye make-up. It just shows how much it's bothering Mac, the way he grabbed her, thinking she had something to do with the calls.

I didn't see it til last night too.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it fell just a little flat for me. I'm going to watch it again cos maybe I was just tired.

Praise where it's due, I actually liked Anna/Lindsay in this ep. However, WTF are TPTB doing with Danny & Lindsay's relationship?! (and I mean that in the broadest sense of the word, not just the 'jiggy-jiggy' part!) Apart from a vague touch on the shoulder they were like two virtual stangers! I'm not suggesting they should've started shagging next to the dead bodies but you'd think there'd be SOME kind of 'weight' in the air between them when they were alone together. They were acting like Mac was in the room and they had to be super business-like. Strange.

Danny/Carmine looked SO tired again, the poor love! I could barely drool over him I was so concerned for his wellbeing.

I was totally feeling the X-Files vibe too. Caught the Morely ref. Is that like a standard Hollywood substitute brand name I wonder, like the 555 telephone number thing?

    I love Sid!

    Not enough Flack!

Stella's boobs were taking a break from public exposure this week. Which was nice.

Mac looked nice in leather. Like others said, weird how none of his colleagues gives a crap about his 333 calls, lol.

Hell, for the first time EVER I switched off.......the whole Amity thing was just too far, too contrived and just plain spoiled by the overbearing wooden presence of Lindsay (plank) Monroe. No offence to planks intended. I watched the other case the day after and just fastforwarded through the Lindsay/ Danny case.....

Maybe it was just me..not in the best of ways at the moment.....got a hole in my knee the size of a small country, torn ligamants and am stunned by painkillers and hobbling around on crutches...okay.sulk over

I didn't miss that bit either, I think I just chose to ignore it. I can't warm to Lindsay - one minute I like her and the next she's winding me up (a debate that I'm sure has been done to death already, but moving on...)

Though I enjoyed it, things around the Big Apple certainly need to pick up. Is it me or are things just falling into place just a little too neatly these days? Bring back some of the gritty themes from season one!

Missed it Saturday so caught in on Sunday instead (thank god for that).

It certainly was a little spooky last night which I loved (X-files fan at heart). Based on something that lots of people know about (Amityville) was also a good idea. Although I'm getting a little concerned that the storylines are getting more far fetched each week. So key points.

    - agree with everyone that Hawkes seems to be disappearing more and more. He's great as he knows so much (which can also be a little annoying)
    - Not enough Flack. They had that one great eopi with lots of him in and now he gets about 5 mins each episode. Whats? going on?
    - I'm disappointed that the 333 thing has hardly been mentioned and then it's sudden Mac saying he's not getting the calls anymore. I hope it picks up.
    - I did think that with the house they would have more people on the case otherwise it would take forever. There is no way two people could check that entire house in such a short space of time.
    - Loved Sid's part. The whole candle thing was so normal for him.

Over all not bad but I so hope it gets better.

I watched it Saturday and still really enjoyed it. The Amityville case was nice to have a different change of scenery i think tho i was baffled at the step plates which i have never seen them use before.

Both cases were cool. Sid is great and the Zombie jokes were good the whole it can't be real or can it coming out.

The 333 thing i kind of ignored because i think because i've seen the eps afterwards i know it picks up so in the back of my mind i'm telling myself that but if i had watched it first off i would have thought same because it does seem to disappear into the distance.

    Boo - interesting ep.

    What I liked
-The old gravedigger scaring the young one with the story and then ringing his little bell.

-The zombie coming up out of the grave.

    -Mac in leather, yummmy!

    -333 mention.

-Sid in the lab with all the candles! Halloween's such a 'Sid' kind of holiday.

-Adam being freaked out by all the zombie talk

-Danny carrying the little girl out of the house.

-Josephine Delacroix and 'tree tree tree' and 'can I 'elp you detectives' - terrible really but funny. :D

-Mac grabbing Delacroix. It wasn't 'right' of him to do it, but it shows that he is human and that he acts out of character when he's stressed. It reminded me of the way Danny behaved in OTJ and the the way Stella snapped at Lindsy in O&S - again, neither of them was 'right' to act the way they did, but it was believeable and understandable nd human that they acted that way.Back to Mac here, if I was getting calls at 3:33 in the morning for 2 months and then some creepy, blind old Voodoo Lady told me was cursed, and then I saw 333 on the eyelids of another weird Voodoo Lady, I'd act out of character/paranoid/a bit OTT too.

-The little girl didn't think much of Lindsey or her soft toy, haha.

-The Amityville case was interesting and the ending of it was quite good. Very 'horror movie'-ish.

    -What I didn't like
-Creepy blind Voodoo Lady. She was scary.

    -Josephine Delacroix's tattooed eyelids -ewwwwww!

-It wasn't right of Mac to grab Delacroix like that (but I'll forgive him because it is understandable and he has been v.stressed lately. And he can grab me any time he wants, I won't complain, I'll just grab him right back.)

-Again no mention of the bloody shirt?

    Guess who's back again.
I'm finally all moved into my apartment and the internet is finally all set up so I'm good to go.
I am enjoying season 4 but I think the Amityville storyline was abit out there. Lindsay wasn't as annoying (I don't know what's wrong with me) but it just seemed weird. There wasn't enough Flack and the crazy lady with the tree, tree, tree made me cringe. It wasn't the worst epiosde but there is definitely room for improvement.

On a side note I have fallen slightly in love with Greg from CSI. I've watched about 6 seasons in 3 weeks. I love him.

    Hope everyone is OK?

    Welcome back Michelle. :)

Boo was OK. I agree with everyone, there was simply not enough Flack!

I quite liked the zombie storyline, in fact I liked both storylines, but it just wasn't great to me, and it wasn't particularly creepy either. 'Tree, tree, tree' lady was irritating, and IMO Mac completely over reacted and was unprofessional. But then, Mac has always been a bit self centred.

For a Halloween episode it was OK, not fantastic, but just OK, however I am very much looking forwards to the next episode, 'Commuted Sentences', this weekend.

    Thanks Elsie.
Season 4 has got off to a good start so let's hope it continues. The CSI franchise have all been picked up by the network for new seasons.
