Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity This was a really hard choice. I've been staring at my computer screen trying to find something I can say about them. They're all really great, but it's got to be done, so... 03: The image seems to be poorly cut out around Grissom's face. 02: Image could have been sharpened a bit more. 01: Gorgeous icon. But the colours are a bit muted.
Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity Wow this is crazy, and hard to choose! Oo #1 - I like the concept, but Stella looks possesed with the coloring #2 - Bit out of focus around Eric's face. It doesn't draw my eyes around the icon. #3 - The side of Grissom's face shows signs of background left formt he cutting process, quite distracting frm the rest of the icon.
Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity 04-- The icon appears quite blurry. 01-- The texture is a bit distracting and the icon appears too purple. 03-- I love the idea, but it appears to have a bit too much contrast and is too orange around Grissom's face.

The cropping around Grissom's face has a little problem, you can still see parts of the original background, and therefore Grissom doesn't seem natural in contrast with the background. 04. Although I love the background idea, I think the position of Stella's head isn't the best 01. Even though the icon is awesome, I'd say Stella's face and especially her neck look a bit too redish.

Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity okay i'll try it although it's really hard to find something... 03 - the cropping isn't the best, the original background can be seen on the side of grissom's face 04 - the position of stella's face is a bit unfortunate...to show a bit more of her neck might have been better. 01 - i love the icon, but i see the same problem here - positioning. the side of stella's face is cut off. it seems as if it melted with the edge of the icon.

Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity I'll come in and vote, though I dread this in the final rounds, all the icons are too good! 2 - The icon looks blurry to me 3 - The way Grissom was cut out looks too boxy, and is distracting. Though, I think the piece of background everyone is talking about is part of his glasses, no? 1 - The icon overall looks too muted, there's nothing that really draws attention.

But I had to search for reasons, all 4 icons look great, but the last round is always the hardest... 03 - don't know: perhaps it's the cropping, perhaps it's a bit too oversharpened around the face, either way it's a bit distracting. Perhaps soften it a bit might have helped? 04 - gosh, I like this one, but somehow the cropping isn't really the best, or better the position of the face. It's a bit too much face (lame reason, I know ) 02 - Eric needs a bit more contrast (a tiny little bit )

Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity This is so tough and unpleasant... 2-A tiny bit blurry and I don't think the text fits it much. 4-Colouring is great but maybe the cropping of Stella's face wasn't the best. 3-I like this icon but as many people said, the erasing around Grissom's face isn't complete.
Re: LIMS #4 - The Ultimate Test of Creativity Hey, folks, sorry I disappeared way back in round three Life got a little crazy on me and i totally forgot about the LIMS! I might be out but, but now with some time off I'm around to vote! That said, here's my picks: 01. This particular cropping and use of decos makes the image seem tight and unbalanced to me. 04. Stella seems a little grainy and the the text-brush draws me away from her. I think that's because the background is only really saturated in the top right corner. 02. This is a pretty nice shot of Eric and I think the use of text-brushes and decos just clutters an otherwise nice clean image. I think thats the kind of shot that lends itself to coloring and texture effects rather than decorative bits.
