Yesterday they gave awards during "Doing More for Pets Rescue Stories Contest" :D
Also Emily partecipated during this party :D
    Here's what she said:

"I'm thrilled to be a part of this special day and to provide Rummy with the recognition he deserves," said Emily Procter. "His story is so
heart-warming, and I'm in awe of his unwavering spirit and courageous
achievements. It is such an honor to help spread the word about all the pet
finalists here today, and to acknowledge the amazing people who rescued
    them."

Do you know the name of the dog who won the award?
Rummy  ...Here I know only one Rummy  It's the same?
    Compliments Rummy

rummy80, when posting large pictures (over approx 480 pixels in width), please post them as links. Otherwise, they can stretch the screen and take a long time to load for those on a dial-up connection. Thanks. :)

Ehm...the dog in those pics you posted is not Rummy. It's Pete a dog that was with her in Aspen when she visited the Early Show.

    This is Rummy!

Awww he's so cute ;) And what a sad story... but with such a happy ending!!

My dog, pheonix, who died last year was a rescue dog. Her owners abused her very badly, trying to make her fight with humans. But she wouldn't, cause she was too loving.

At least she ended up in a nice home.

I think charaties like that one do incredible work. I donate every month to my local animal shelter (also to the nspcc and breast cancer research).

On a less personal level it makes me happy that celebrities get involved with charaties and, sad as it is, it makes people want to get involved. They should really do it off their own backs but if putting a pretty face into the mixture gets them more moeny... so be it.

    Long live these organisations!

    Oh and well done Rummy!

Wow! I'm gone for two weeks and I have 5 pages of posts to catch up on! :D Lovely pics, all, and happy belated birthday to our divine Miss Em. I'm so glad to read she's charitably minded - makes me admire her all the more. ;)

Welcome to the newbies! Pull up a chair, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy the Emilyness. :)

To the person who asked what religion Calleigh might be, I would say probably Southern Baptist. Just a guess.

hmmm probably...although South Carolina isn't really that far south. but far enough south for her to have an accent...so i don't really know. i think the only way to truly know it to ask her herself.

and i think it's very sweet how Emily participates in all these events and fundraisers for pets and kids and stuff :D

    EMILY YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!!!!

Yeah, Emilys accent is a bit stronger than mine! I don't get it! :p Never mind, it suits her.

Before I found out she was from North Carolina, I always thought she was from Lousianna or Texas b/c her accent is soo strong.

I guess it depends where you grow up in NC.
