Re: The Fan Art Forum Guide

I made those icons and all you had to do was ask. :p

I made a tutorial that I basically used for those icons as well. The link to that tutorial can be found, here

Basically just move the inputs of the colorbalance around. :D

Re: The Fan Art Forum Guide

Sorry for double post, but here's just a little tiny request for my part:

to every runner of a challenge: please send Jess or me a pm every time when something changes, for example you've closed the voting and already posted the winners, or you post a new challenge.

There are pretty much challenges running at the same time and sometimes we just don't recognize if one challenge is already over etc., and some people keep on wondering why there's still 'Voting' in the title even though the winners are already up.

I can only speak for myself right now, but I'm sure that Wyoming also wouldn't deny some hints about wishes of thread title changes etc.;)

Of course it can be that we realized it on our own and changed it on our own, but nevertheless... :p

    Thank y'all! :)

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to or point me in the direction of a tutorial for selective coloring. Thanks a head of time!

Does anyone know of a good site where I can find simple PS CS3 tutorials?

Also, does anyone know what the 'Dead Like Me' font is? Example

    Thanks in advance!

I know this question has probably been asked before but, how do you make your own pictures, what type of programs do you have to have?

Re: The Fan Art Forum Guide

OK, this will be a serious poll! :p

No, really, I realized in nearly every challenge thread that not enough entries could be submitted though enough time was given.

So my suggestion: we'll make a complete stop (except for the LIMS-challenge!) of all challenges right after the already running challenges are done till the 1st of October. Perhaps this short break will increase everybody's creativity and motivation ;)
But it's possible that I'm wrong with my impression, so please make your vote - it's all in your hands.

Yes, I agree Vera, a short break should increase everyone's motivation and creativity and give everyone the opportunity for a break. And October really isn't that far away now... Plus, by then the new season will be upon us and I'm sure that will give everyone some new images to create fan art with and get excited about! :D

Re: The Fan Art Forum Guide

I can see your point - however - my current Miami challenge has over 50 entries. I don't want to stop since it is doing so well.

I don't know why the others are suffering - but does that mean I should have to stop running my challenge? Thanks!

Speaking as an icon maker - I don't care the size of the challenges or even the number of categories....it gives me good practice.....I use caps I would never pick on my own and I think that helps me slowly get better. Maybe instead of 4 icon challenges - we should limit the next round to 2 challenges? Another suggestion would be to provide caps for the challenges? I know some challenges do and others don't. I know I don't always have time to hunt down caps.
