Me and a couple friends were discussing what we'd change the national anthem to if we could.

If you could change your country's national anthem with any other song or poem, what would you choose and why.

I hope that people choose one because they think it represents or is related to their country and not becuase they just like the song.

I like it just the way it is  no changes are needed!

This is more of a 'if you could' type thread, with more opinion and what the song represents and why it's be good for your country's national anthem. Rather than anything that's ever going to happen.

Hehe, we should have "Down Under" by Men At Work for the Aussie anthem. *giggle*

I also like "I Still Call Australia Home" by Peter Allen

I'd definitly change our anthem if I got the chance. Its old, its hard, the lyrics suck and its way too long! And nobody knows the full lyrics anyway (usually we make it to 3 lines, some make it a little further)

I don't quite know what I would replace it with. I have to give it some thought.
Baas B & Lange Frans would be nice (The Dutchies know what song I mean, I think)

Lee Greenwood - God Bless the USA (I'm Proud to be an American)

But then of course all the atheist liberals would have a cow over it.

You're right atheists and liberals would have aproblem with that, I'm not an atheist but I am a liberal and I'd have a problem with using it becuase of the unconsitiutionality of it.

My friend thought of this one but I thought I'd share it.

Maybe Pink Houses by John Mellencamp although it really isn't that original of an idea even my friend said that.
