Yelina: *walks over* Hey.

Josh: Hey.

Yelina: You look tired.

Josh: Taking care of three kids does that to a person.

Yelina: Where are they?

Josh: Hotel room. Cait's taking care of everyone, she swears she's a big girl so I trust her.

Yelina: You up for a case?

Josh: I have to make a living somehow.

Yelina: Good. *hands over folder* Playground murder.

Josh: Who died?

Yelina: A parent actually. Witnesses said they heard a shot out of nowhere and Lucinda Wellner hit the ground.

Josh: Was her husband there?

Yelina: We called him. He says he was at his office during the murder. His four year old girl is with PD.

Josh: I guess I should head out to the crime scene then.

Yelina: Yeah and there's a new CSI with you.

Josh: *stops walking* You can't be serious.

Yelina: County hires them, I don't.

Josh: *looks down at folder* I'm not here to babysit a newbie.

Yelina: You are now. She's in the lounge her name's Avery.

Josh: Great. *walks away*

Yelina: *smirks*

Lounge

Josh: *walks in*

Avery: *opens fridge* For a county building there sure isn't a lot of food.

Josh: Are you Avery?

Avery: *turns around* Yup. Who are you?

Josh: I'm Josh Speedle. You're on my case.

Avery: *walks over* Your case?

Josh: Yeah.

Avery: No offense sir but you don't own the case.

Josh: I'm the senior CSI on the case.

Avery: How long have you been working with CSI?

Josh: Four years.

Avery: Wow...Four...Whole years?

Josh: *frowns*

Avery: Well I've been workin' about four minutes so I guess you have seniority.

Josh: Alright let's head out.

Avery: Ladies first.

Crime scene, playground

Josh: *places down kit* Hey Alexx.

Alexx: Hey baby. You with the new girl?

Josh: Yeah unfortunately.

Alexx: *laughs* Well don't worry, I hear she'll be transfered to night shift by the end of the week.

Josh: Good.

Avery: *walks over* Ooh gossip much fun.

Josh: We weren't gossiping.

Avery: *laughs* Yeah you're whispering with the coroner about crime scenes and suspects.

Josh: How do you know we weren't?

Avery: I'm not an idiot.

Josh: *looks at Alexx*

Alexx: *smiles*

Avery: Let's get started already. This heat's going to damage my skin. *walks away*

Alexx: She's a pistol.

Josh: I've already got one pistol, I don't need another one. *walks away*

Alexx: *laughs*

Murder scene

Avery: *kneels* Blood.

Josh: Yeah it's a murder. There would be blood.

Avery: *tilts head* No casings. Shooter was far away.

Josh: You read that out of the folder.

Avery: *smiles* Yeah I did. I wanted to sound competant.

Josh: Congratulations.

Avery: *stands* Okay so we have to find the trajectory. We find the trajectory, we find the casing and evidence of our shooter.

Josh: Alright I'll set up a dummy.

Avery: Wait.

Josh: What.

Avery: *looks around*

Josh: *lifts brow*

Avery: *climbs up slide*

Josh: What are you doing?

Avery: *climbs up to the top*

Josh: *rolls eyes*

Avery: *looks across yard* You can see pretty much the whole neighborhood from up here.

Josh: What's your point?

Avery: Great place to find out a victim. No one saw the shooter.

Josh: I think if the shooter was on top of a slide, someone would have seen him.

Avery: *looks up* The school's pretty close to this position right?

Josh: Yeah.

Avery: *slides down slide*

Josh: *crosses arms*

Avery: We need to get to autopsy.

Josh: Whoa, slow down. We need to process the scene first.

Avery: There's nothing to process.

Josh: There's always something to process.

Avery: Right, you go through all of the bottle caps and paperclips and I'll head down to autopsy and get the angle of the shot so we'll have a real crime scene to check out.

Josh: No. You process the paperclips and bottlecaps. I'll go to autopsy.

Avery: *laughs* The rookie gets all of the crap jobs right?

Josh: Yeah and if you look toward the end of the giant sandbox over there, you might find some crap. *walks away*

Avery: *shakes head*

Autopsy, two hours later

Alexx: *grabs latex gloves*

Josh: *walks in*

Alexx: Back so soon?

Josh: You have an angle on the trajectory?

Alexx: Yep. I put it at about a 45 degree angle from above.

Josh: So someone was pretty high up.

Alexx: Yeah and talented. *hands over container*

Josh: What is that? A .22? So someone with a handgun.

Alexx: Maybe.

Josh: Any other findings?

Alexx: Well she was in great shape, healthy organs, nothing out of the ordinary there. But I did find something interesting in the wound tract. A black substance.

Josh: You send it to Trace?

Alexx: I did.

Josh: ...

Alexx: What?

Josh: *leans closer to body* Can you pass me a magnifying glass?

Alexx: Sure. What do you see?

Josh: *grabs magnifying glass* Something that shouldn't be here. *picks up tweezers*

Alexx: *stares at Josh*

Josh: *stands up straight* It's a micro chip. It was under her skin.

Alexx: What soccer mom carries a micro chip under her skin?

Josh: The kind that's hiding something.

Alexx: *smiles*

Josh: What?

Alexx: Timmy makes the same face when he finds out something interesting about a case.

Josh: *smirks* Thanks Alexx. *leaves*

Alexx: *covers body with sheet*

Trace Lab, two hours later

Avery: *walks in*

Josh: Hey. You find anything?

Avery: A lot of burried puke and soothers. You have anything here?

Josh: *hands over paper*

Avery: *looking at paper* Alright I don't speak tech, you're going to have to translate.

Josh: It's rubber.

Avery: Rubber....You say that like it means something.

Josh: It was in the wound tract.

Avery: So?

Josh: So put it in context.

Avery: You were here first, you do it.

Josh: It was a silencer. Well, part of a silencer. When the bullet passes through a silencer it can take some of it with it depending on how hot the chamber was. It will then leave a second set of striations on the bullet.

Avery: Did you look at the bullet?

Josh: An hour ago.

Avery; So whoever shot her had a silencer....Witnesses say they heard a shot. That wouldn't have happened if the killer had a silencer.

Josh: There was a second shot which we have to find.

Avery: Wait, shouldn't we find out where the first shot came from?

Josh: The roof of the school like you said.

Avery: Well that's a pretty direct shot from the roof.

Josh: I'm thinking rifle. The bullet was a .22 but you can substitute that with a rifle. They fire the same ammunition.

Avery: Sniper.

Josh: Yeah.

Avery: Well I'll think twice before going to a playground again.

Josh: You go to playgrounds?

Avery: I'm a kid at heart, sue me.

Josh: *nods*

Avery: So we search around the top of the school and find evidence.

Josh: First I have something else. *walks away*

Avery: *follows*

AV Lab

Avery: Alright why are we here?

Josh: *sits down* There was a micro chip under her skin.

Avery: Oh retro.

Josh: I'm trying to find the information that's probably being stored in it.

Avery: What is she, like some kind of secret agent?

Josh: I don't know. *typing*

Avery: *shrugs* She seems too 'Stepford' for that.

Josh: *looks at Avery*

Avery: What?

Computer beeps

Josh: *looks at computer* Here we go. We have her name, address, credit card information.

Avery: Oh I've seen those before.

Josh: You have?

Avery: Yeah girls go to the hot clubs in Miami with that under their dresses. Much easier than carrying a wallet. The guy scans them and they're in.

Josh: You scare me.

Avery: *smiles* Yeah right. How about you tell me something about yourself that I never could know.

Josh: I used to be gay.

Avery: *stares at Josh*

Josh: ...

Avery: Really?

Josh: Yeah you have a problem with that?

Avery: No it's just...Man why does it always have to be the hot ones.

Josh: Excuse me?

Avery: Nothing I was making a general statement. *grabs keyboard*

Josh: *lifts brow*

Avery: *typing* So we can track her movements over the past 24 hours right?

Josh: *staring at Avery* Theoretically.

Avery: Good. She might have met her killer at a club. Oh here I found one. South Beach Tropicana.

Josh: Sounds like a drink.

Avery: It is. It's also the name of the corresponding club. Come on we're going.

Josh: No. Absolutely not. There's no reason to go there.

Avery: The killer could be working there.

Josh: Yeah and he could be working at a Burger King we're not going.

Avery: What sniper do you know of that works at a Burger King. I don't think Jay and Silent Bob are the types we're looking for.

Josh: *sigh* ...Fine.

South Beach Tropicana Club, 8pm

Josh: *walks in*

Avery: *walks ahead* Stop being so slow.

Josh: You're only doing this because you want to go clubbing.

Avery: Hey no one said we couldn't have a little fun while we're on the case. Where'd your Joe-Gay flamboyant side go?

Josh: It's in the Hummer.

Avery: Oh get in touch with it for a minute and stop slacking behind like a mortician. Excuse me bartender man I have a question.

Bartender: Yeah?

Avery: You see this woman here lately? *lifts photo*

Bartender: Yeah that's Lucinda. Why?

Avery: She's dead.

Baretender: Shame.

Avery: Yeah especially for her little girl who had to see her head pop open like a big ol' grapefruit. So if you could tell me who she was with or if she was speaking to anyone here that would be GREAT.

Bartender: She was alone.

Avery: No one comes to a club alone.

Bartender: She did. Every night.

Avery: Do you know why?

Bartender: Said she wanted to get away from her family.

Josh: What else did she tell you?

Bartender: Her troubles like everyone else who comes in here half drunk.

Josh: You mind telling us what said troubles were?

Bartender: *shrugs*

Avery: I don't see a psychiatry degree on your wall so make with the 411 before I-

Josh: Avery.

Avery: *sigh*

Bartender: She said some guy was following her. She was freaked.

Josh: She ever mention a name or give a description?

Bartender: No.

Josh: Did she ever see the guy here?

Bartender: Not that I know of.

Josh: Okay, thanks. *leaves*

Avery: Can I get a rum and coke on the r-

Josh: *grabs Avery* We have to leave.

Avery: *rolls eyes*
