I would strongly suggest you pick up the book then. It's a compilation of letters from various well-known/established artists to, well, a young artist. hehe There is SO MUCH great advice in there for an aspiring artist. Hell for anyone actually because a lot of it can apply whatever your calling may be. I absolutely loved it. It's one of those reads you go back to again and again to refresh your memory on this excerpt or that. It's fan-freaking-tastic.

On the inconsistency note, is there different laws per city/state with regards to involvement with the supposed suspect? On a re-run of CSI: Miami I watched recently, Horatio was a suspect and I expected his whole crew would be off the case because of conflict of interest but they weren't. Then I saw tonight's CSI: NY and I'm thrown for a loop. What's the deal? Is it state/local laws they're working with?

Very true...just like the arrest policy I also brought up...Hawkes didn't have to worry like Nick did.

Which btw the LV team also investigated his case...(I tihnk they also worked on Lindsey's kidnapping and possibly some on Greg's case but not sure)and the Miami team was apparently on Speed's case.

Best episode of the season. I've long said I'm reserving the "A+" for when Danny strips naked. I stand corrected. I gave this one an enthusiastic "A+." The writing was brilliant and every single member of the cast absolutely shined tonight. Loved it! And Danny ... oh the Danny we all love was back.

Will be back tomorrow with a bit more substance. It's my bedtime. Just couldn't wait to give this one two big, fat thumbs up.

Great night of TV on CBS tonight. Criminal Minds was awesome and so was NY's episode!!

Danny had some fabulous lines tonight- he can take me outside anytime he wants   and the porno tape

Angry Hawkes- me likey! :D Seriously though, Hill was amazing in the episode tonight!

Edward Furlong did a great job! He made Shane so creepy!! He was fantastic in that last scene at the bar.

On another note, now I'm just nit-picking but you could see that their elevators were still moving in a couple shots after they'd hi the 'stop' button.

A...needed a bit more Flack IMO, then it could've been an A+ :)

Great episode I haven't seen many but that one is the best CSI NY I've seen better than the t-shirt one that set us up for Shane Casey
I liked how they pulled the team together and figured out the two cases were related, espeically the green trace on the junkie at the peep show ( sorry, called that one )

    great episode
other likes: how Mac put Peytons hand down when Stella walked in the room, I haven't watched long, but he doesn't look very happy with Peyton
and how he keeps thinking of his wife, probably because her son came to call on him, he's probably putting some prospective in his life and how he wants to handle her son
    ( just my opinion)

    GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT

I liked the episode more than I thought I would. It gave Hill Harper a chance to show his dramatic chops. He did an excellent job and the rest of the episode was well-acted by all.

Gary Sinise rocks - he's the man and if every other character on the show left, he'd still make it work.

I actually didn't mind Stella's reaction to the captain harping on Danny. Ususally when she acts all tough (like in People with Money when she said "you like shoving guns in the faces of little girls, huh?" or something along those lines I just thought oh brother) I think "okay, it's okay Stella."

I like that they've wrapped things up with Shane Casey but there were a few questions left unanswered.

Is Danny's brother okay? Did the hotel guy know he was helping Casey leave the hotel restaurant?

    Overall, a good episode!

First of all, welcome serenat. :D

This episode was a-maz-ing! Absolutely superb. From the beginning all the way to the end, it was good. The bits with Peyton didn't drag the way they usually do, and the scene outside left things nicely open--if she doesn't come back, we can assume it's over, but if they keep her around, we can assume that they gave it another try. Mac calling Peyton 'Claire' was very sad, you know she's been on his mind a lot recently and that could be part of why a (supposedly) long-term relationship is suddenly not working. :(

Hawkes was phenomenal. Hill Harper, you deserve whatever award they give to people on tv shows for this one. So fucking amazing. I wasn't just interested, my insides were jumping. I knew logically that they'd get him off, but they still kept me on the edge of my seat. Wonderfully done. :D :D :D

Hill hit it way out of the park with his acting in this episode. Just the look on his face conveyed so much of what the character was feeling, and the anger and frustration and fear was palpable. Beautifully done, just beautifully done. (And I expect to go on and on about him in the Hill/Hawkes thread for the next week or more.)

Danny was great tonight as well. That's the character I've been missing. Why can't the writers remember who he is more often? When they do episodes like this, I know that they still connect that personality with him, so why can't they tone him down in other episodes without mellowing him out completely? I loved his frustration and anger, and the way he knows so much about Sheldon was great. Yes, Springmoon, my slashy senses were tingling as well, but more than that I just love that the writers gave us proof that these two are friends.

They've made me wonder why Sheldon has been working the night shift (aside from it being convenient to the story). He strikes me as the kind of guy who put back his money and invested it when he was making the big bucks as an ME--why would he need extra money? Something they might eventually address? I hope so.

Back to Danny for a second--that scene with Shane was so good. The way he explained the truth about Shane's brother was so well done, and the fact that his hands were shaking was just spot-on for the scene. Carmine, my darling, you deserve cookies. :D

Flack saving Mac's ass after they broke down the door to the interrogation room? That was lovely, I must say. As was mentioned up the thread, this shows that, whatever he might be feeling toward Mac at the moment, there's no doubt that he'll put his own ass on the line for this team. :D And when he was trying to tell Stella that the girl had died?... :(

Lindsay was there more. It's good to see that the writers realized that yes, in fact, it's possible to have her there. I didn't give a thought to how they were covering up Anna's stomach, so they did a much better job with making the scenes themselves engaging this week. When she was telling Danny about what the guy was doing for Sheldon's case based off of what she saw across the hall, it showed just how good she is at the science. That girl knows her stuff. ;)

Stella was pretty kick ass tonight. I liked seeing her in charge when she told the Captain what's-what after Danny was ordered from the scene. (That was great, by the way, that Danny's reaction to the situation was to look for evidence even though he'd been told not to. He's always looking for the truth, and I love it. :)) She was also obviously affected by the whole thing--the scene in the morgue when the dead waitress was brought in was nicely done.

Angell is great, and even if she was just in the background I like that she was there. :D If we'd gotten an extra half an hour and Adam, my year would have been complete.

That ending scene was sososo good. I really wanted the whole team to be there, and I still wish that they had been, but to see Stella walk up was great. Not sure if that's meant to be significant (as a bit of a Hawkes/Stella shipper, I could deal with it, and Melina and Hill could pull off whatever scenes the writers throw at them, no doubt ;)), but it was great. To see Hawkes genuinely smile after that whole ordeal just made me smile too. :D

We still don't know what happened to Louie, and I was hoping we'd get just a peep, but no such luck. I'm still waiting for the continuity about that case beyond just acknowledging that Danny had a brother.

Are we sure this is the last of Shane? I thought it would be a longer story arc, to be honest, and there is any number of ways he might be back...I'm not the biggest fan of Edward Furlong, and I'll admit I didn't love him completely in this episode (maybe it's the voice, I dunno ). But there is no doubt that he's a good actor, and that final scene with Danny showed amazing range. He can be cool and calulated, as well as clearly unhinged, not to mention that he can be so very human and vulnerable that you connect to his pain even if you don't condone his actions. Fantastic job, my friend. :D

I'm still grinning like an idiot over this episode. A+, no doubt about it. I'll wait until I rewatch it tomorrow, and maybe talk some more (and find some small criticisms to make since right now I'm just overwhelmed with the awesomeness ), before I actually log in my grade, but A+ is what it will be. Just phenomenal. :D :D :D

BRILLIANT! Simply brilliant! Every did an AMAZING job with the acting.

Danny Messer where have you been hiding?? Maybe behind that potted plant ;) Glad to have had him back.

I even felt sorry for both Mac and Peyton. That scene actually made me feel like both situations are a hard place to be in.

Eddie Furlong did an amazing job... but I couldn't help thinking in both episodes he was in, riding that dirt bike while screaming his girlish scream :D

    A+ and nothing less!

Superb episode, just one thing bugged me.

How long it took them to connect the case. I was shouting at the TV but they obviously didn't hear me.

I really loved this episode. It was great from beginning to end. Everyone did such an outstanding job. Wouldn't surprise me if it weren't over between M/P. The hurt look in her eyes when Mac slapped her hand away when Stella walked in. I figured then they were through but, ya just never know. I give it an A+. It was just WOW!!!!!!!!

Wow, what can I say about this episdoe? It was stunningly superb. Hill Harper took it to a whole new level last night, and was absolutely amazing. There were times when I just wanted to cry for him.

Eddie Furlong also did a great job. I hope we get to see more of Shane, he fascinates me to no end.

So, Peyton and Mac are over. Oh well, can't say I am too awful upset to see her go. She tends to get on my nerves, but I haven't figured out why. In her defense however, I would have been ticked off too. First you nearly rip my arm off to keep Stella from seeing me touch you, and then you call me Claire. Yeah, that would have been the end for me too. Come on Mac, move on already.

All in all, this was an amazing episode, the best one of the season so far. And perhaps....the best episode to date. I have to give it an A+ all the way.
