Since Casino Royale was released no less then a week ago I figure I could create a thread dedicated to the biggest silver screen agent of all time. Here you can dicuss anything related to Bond such as your favourite actor who portrayed him, favourite film, favourite villan etc.

Personally my all time Bond film is Goldfinger. It was simple & the storyline wasn't as confusing as some of the other Bond films. This film also had Oddjob who I consider one of the best & funniest bad guys. I also have to admit that Goldfinger was slightly likeable. Oh, and how could I forget that this film featured one of the best Bond lines ever...

James Bond: Do you expect me to talk Goldfinger?
Goldfinger: No, I expect you to die.

It also featured the best & sexiest Bond IMO, Sean Connery. He was such a hottie back then!

As for the worst Bond film it has to be Diamonds are Forever. Even the hit theme song couldn't save the boring plot & case.

    Best Bond: Sean Connery
    Worst Bond: Timothy Dalton
    Best movie: really can't choose
    Worst movie: Licence to Kill
Fav Bondgirl: Jane Seymour as Solitaire (she's half Dutch :p), Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore and Maud Adams as Octopussy
Worst Bondgirl: Probably Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight.
Fav villain: Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Auric Goldfinger
Worst villain: Julian Glover as Aristotle Kristatos
Fav villain sidekick: Richard Kiel as Jaws, Harold Sakata as Oddjob and Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp
Worst villain sidekick: Goldie a Bull
Fav Allie: Robbie Coltrane as Valentin Zukovsky and Jack Lord as Felix Leiter
    Worst Allie: Madonna as Verity

My best Bondline is the same
Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

You all probably know, but Lois Chiles, who played Nick's mother, plays the Bongirl in Moonraker: Dr. Holly Goodhead.
Also, John O'Terry who plays Danny's dad on Las Vegas and Jack's dad on Lost, played Felix Leiter in The Living Daylights.

I agree that Pussy Galore was one of the best Bond girls. I liked that she was able to hold her own against James & she was good at ignoring his passes until the end. I don't blame her for giving in .

Tomorrow Never Dies, with Teri Hatcher, is another bad Bond film. After watching it last night I have to say that it's become my choice of the worst film, over Diamonds are Forever. The plot was awful, the chase scenes were boring & the villan wasn't exciting at all. I found it to be quite weak. Unfortunately the new Bond films will never be as good as the old ones with Sean Connery & Roger Moore :(.

I got the first two "Ultimate Editions" a few weeks ago, and I'm workin' my way through 'em. I've seen all the Bond films, except Casino Royale, since I was a kid.

Goldfinger is my favorite of the franchise. I'm glad it was the first movie of Volume One.

Roger Moore, though, is my favorite Bond actor. He's the one I grew up watchin'.

George Lazenby is the worst Bond actor. I got a loaner copy of his movie, and thought the whole thing was awful.

Halle Berry's Jinx is the best Bond girl, just 'cause I love Halle Berry.

Pussy Galore is the best Bond girl name, though.

i didn't really have any desire to see this new james bond movie. the last one i saw was timothy dalton's first one and he just ruined it for me. if our boss didn't offer to take us to a lunch/movie, i probably wouldn't have seen this movie. i have to say i am glad that i saw it...i really enjoyed it, it brings something different to the james bond character...

I would give anything to catch all the Bond films in theatre but about more then half of them were released before I was born (1986). I think seeing the action scenes makes the movie more climatic & more enjoyable as a whole.

So, which actors do you guys think would make a good Bond? Clive Owen is definitely one who I would like to see on the big screen, dressed in a tux & sipping on a martini. I find that he has the Bond allure to him.

I loved Casino Royale and I'm pleased Daniel Craig has signed on to do at least two more. If they keep them edgy and gritty like CR, then I'm in! :)

My friend and I decided that we hadn't seen a Bond movie that good since the early 80's. I actually quite like Timoty Dalton overall, but I found his Bond a bit wooden. And I tried to like Pierce Brosnan, I really did. But all three (or were there more? They sort of run together for me) of his outings did nothing for me. The last one was the worst in fact. If they'd released anoth Brosnan Bond film, I doubt I would have bothered to see it. I watched the last two on DVD as it was.

I think Connery will always be my fave, but Daniel Craig is definitely keeping up with him. )

I recall Bronson being in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies & Die Another Day & The World Is Not Enough. I have to say I liked him best in GoldenEye. As I metioned Tomorrow Never Dies was just horrible. I haven't really enjoyed a Bond film sice the one's that were released after the 80's but then I'm not actually sure when they were released so I may not be right.

Anyway, I heard they're gonna make another Bond film for 2008. I can't wait :D!

as you can tell from my avatar and my signature, i love James Bond. I really loved Casino Royale and i think Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond ever. funny, i didn't think i would like him but he was fabulous. i also cannot wait for the next movie to come out. fortunately, my father has passed down his 007 DVDs to me so i'll be having a good weekend.

has anyone gotten the new collections??? my dad bought the first two and gave me the second one to watch.

No, but I really want the DVD sets for Christmas. If I don't get them then I plan to buy 'em all once I find a part-time job. I've read the review about them in the paper & they sound great with all their HD features. Seeing Sean Connery in HD would be fantastic, along with Roger Moore.

Maybe I already said this but I LOVE the theme song for Casino Royale. For a brief moment I thought it was U2 but I must admit that Chris Cornell has a lovely voice. It went really well with the opening credits.

OT: I love what it says in your sig softballgirl22. Daniel has a good sense of humour!

They are really killing the bondfans with those dvd's. I bought the older ones, so it's a shame if I would buy them twice. But hey, they probably make them better with every new bondmovie coming out, so I can always buy them all again after a year or twnty when I have a good job :p
I will probably be the first one to be a bit negative. I liked Craig, but he wasn't great. Overall he was really good, but sometimes I thought he wasn't very good. One moment he was way too dark, and the other moment he was to funny. I think he's tied with Pierce Brosnan for third place with me. I think Connery and Moore were better.
For when movie was from what year, here's the list:

    1962 Dr. No
    1963 From Russia with Love
    1964 Goldfinger
    1965 Thunderball
    1967 You Only Live Twice
1969 On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    1971 Diamonds Are Forever
    1973 Live and Let Die
1974 The Man with the Golden Gun
1977 The Spy Who Loved Me
    1979 Moonraker
    1981 For Your Eyes Only
    1983 Octopussy
    1985 A View to a Kill
    1987 The Living Daylights
    1989 Licence to Kill
    1995 GoldenEye
    1997 Tomorrow Never Dies
1999 The World Is Not Enough
    2002 Die Another Day
    2006 Casino Royale
    2008 ? (will premiere november 7th)

I'm a really big fan, it is quite disturbing that I just typed this list by hard

Don't forget the ones that were made by other producers:
1983 Never Say Never Again (love that Kim Basinger)
1967 Casino Royale (love that Herb Alpert trumpet theme)
1954 Casino Royale (black & white episode of the one-hour TV anthology series "Climax.") Barry Nelson as the American Jimmy Bond, Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre.

that was one of my favorite lines from the movie. there are others but that was one of the best.

Okay i've seen Casino royale this afternoon and i just completely LOVED IT!!! lol okay i admit i didn't want to see it at the beginning because for me, James Bond can't be blond (i know that's stupid lol) , i loved Pierce Brosnan as 007 and i just couldn't see someone else as James Bond....And well i finally loved that movie, loved Daniel Craig and i wish he will be on the next movies.
My favourite OO7 ever is Sean Connery but Daniel Craig was excellent. I loved how for the first time we have seen the human side of 007. AWWW lovely :D
