Eigenfaces is a tool developed by MIT that extracts characteristics through the use of two-dimensional grayscale imagery.

ok, since I just finished my first forensic science class this past weekend and know more about fingerprints and the history of forensic science then I ever want to know....... what does S.W.G.F.A.S.T. stand for?

hint: It is a group that was created by the FBI.

SWGFAST = Scientific Working Group on Friction Ridge Analysis, Study and Technology.

Established by the FBI in 1995 as Technical Working Group on Friction Ridge Analysis, Study and Technology (TWGFAST). The name was changed in 1999. This working group develops standards and guidelines in the area of friction skin identification.

Sorry I got lost.... TallyHo you are correct....... next up for a question!

Just for fun: Ninhydrin is a chemical that is used to visualize latent fingerprints on certain surfaces. Ninhydrin works because it reacts with the amino acids in latent fingerprint residue. :)

    Ok. Cheers.

    Question:

What was unique about the landmark case of "The Spa Murders © (State of Florida v. Stephen William Beattie (1978))"?

    Shot in the wind...

The victim was killed in the dry sauna and moved to the whirlpool to cover up the evidence of necglect?

Haha hope I'm close, I have no idea...

I did a bit of poking around and would like to revise that.

It was the first recorded case of a latent fingerprint being recovered from a body, matched to a suspect and used in court.

Hehe, I was tickled to see that it was the cause of quite a few urban legends as well.

    Okay...
In fingerprinting, the term "Starburst" was popularized by Ron Smith. What does it describe?
